Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Your an idiot...and who is going to wheel in a organ? And where will they put it?

Come on...Men's games? High school games are over....and what about the BAND at the college games?

And, let me think, oh yeah, Traverse City West beat Rockford, 3-1, yesterday at the Ferris Ice Arena!

Oh, and there are two more games coming up, Tue and Wed.

Oh, and did the Men's league have "Organ" music tonight???

Idiot!!

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

UNO is going to be very difficult. Don't have the exact number but they have been putting pucks in the net like crazy over the past month or so. Probably won't have much of a home ice advantage either, because of spring break.

Biggest weekend of the season has arrived.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

I think we will get scoring from alot of places.Players will step up and get more key situations and the team will be fine.

I worry about a true freshmen in Huff, he has cooled off alot since the first of the year.Check his stats and I won't say anymore,it will be an adjustment for him as it is for all freshmen.

Listening to "Lady of Spain" as I write this. :D

Hey Bueller, my apologies. I asked very trustworth sources and they said No Organ. I was just going off their word. BUT, we'll see this Friday if it is being played at the Ferris Hockey game. That could be what they meant.

Isn't this week FSU's spring break? Won't most of the band be outta town?

Yes, this is their week on spring break right now, the end of it coming this weekend, so if we go to game 7 (Sunday), the students should be there. But the band will be at the Ferris hockey games regardless this weekend.

short of sticking a flyer in every mail box, there can't be any way to saturate the Big Rapids market than all that.

They're doing this story the one weekend where there are going to be no students in attendance?

Nothing puts butts in the seats like winning. Sweep this weekend and play well from here on out and we'll get more people in the arena next season.

Has there been any consideration to giving students free tickets like a lot of low level D-1 football schools do? Making it free for like the first 1,000 students lined up. A full house, no matter how they get there, buying nachos, popcorn, pop and pretzels would seem to be a solid revenue stream. Right now, when you have a 1,000 open seats that's 1,000 people not spending money at the concession stand or on Bulldog merchandise between periods. A large crowd, adds to the atmosphere, making it a more desirable ticket to buy for those who can't get in for free.

...and maybe an organ to supplement the band instead of Daughtry and Miley Cyrus.

When a CCHA referee approaches you during a high school game and says, "Why don't you play music like this during Ferris games?" It really makes you wonder. Why does Ferris insist on playing music that doesn't appeal to hockey fans or get the crowd into the game despite the complaints from the community?

At least he didn't ask, "Did you think that was a penalty?"

I'm certain they would love to let students in free to pack the place. At NMU, student tickets are free for the regular season, but the CCHA runs the playoffs and forces NMU to charge student $5.oo to get in for the playoffs.

Daughtry I can handle, Miley Cyrus should be banned from being played in any hockey venue. Any team that plays a Miley song in their arena should be assessed a penalty!

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

DavyD, what if a player willing chooses a Miley Cyrus song as their specific song to be played when they score a goal?

Colorado College fans can be proud of Joey Crabb doing that withthe Chicago Wolves. :D

I *think* it's because the money goes to the CCHA , too, and no one wants to take money out of the operating budget to pay those clowns in Farmington.

Not sure, since it's not like I've seen loads of home playoff series around here lately.

aparch: How does that guy not get his butt kicked on a regular basis.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

So we finish 3rd, and have only one player make the all CCHA team? What's up with that? Not even honorable mention for Riley, or Nagle....weird.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

BIG win tonight over UNO, 3-1. No stupid majors, 2-5 on the power play, very nice win all around. :)

That one makes 20 on the year. I'd much prefer to get #21 tomorrow night and not even deal with a 3rd game. There's a lot at stake tomorrow....

I think that speaks to how well Ferris plays as a team. I pretty much agree with the selected team. Nagle lost out because he split time while Palmisano did not.

Happy to see a victory tonight. I'll continue to hold my breath.

What does this team have against shutouts?

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Yeah, they did give up the shutout late, didn't they?

That's okay. I'll happily take a 3-1 postseason win every day of the week without complaint, and I don't care how we get there.
