Heh.

How does it work through the playoffs as fantasy teams get eliminated? Are those team rosters then dumped and it's a free for all, or do we have to keep replacing our players with whoever is still available as actual teams get eliminated through conference playoffs?

The winning team can poach 2 players from the team that they beat. All of the other players on the beaten team are off-limits to everyone after that.

There are poaching rules...I believe last year was 4 transactions of which 2 can be poaches from the team you just beat.

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

Need a ruling in USCHO 3, who's the 3 seed and who's the 4?

Honestly the code doesn't account for that scenario since there is no reasonable tiebreaker such as H2H. And I don't know what will happen if it does since I don't have a way to test it. Based on the seeding algorithm I think it will choose randomly. There is a risk though that it will choose differently each time the page is pulled.

I say without looking at anything we should do most points from Defensemen, Forwards, Goalies in that order if we have that kind of information?

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

Keep up that attitude and you'll get knocked out in the first round...WBWs stopped caring about the RS title a few months ago...just biding his time for playoffs ;)
I'm pretty sure NMUKat was in 8th last season (or was it two years ago) and then bumped off the #1 in the first round.

I'm quite pleased by my steady climb from the basement to fourth.

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

So I put a fix in. It gets the job done in a barebones way. If there is a tie for seeding purposes, the system will decide randomly.

Sorry, the more robust ways of determining ties are too hard to code for the amt of time I have right now.

I also put in a more robust error checking in the roster change function. So please let me know if you see anything funny with the add/drop to free agency function or with the playoffs.

Thanks Bob. I would have recommended a simple coin flip. If we can't trust you who can we trust?! :D

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

Thompson was an undrafted free agent in my league. I got lucky and snapped him up earlier in the year.
