so does today start the roster lock of four changes tops, including max of two roster poaches?

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

It's been my understanding that he lock happen today at noon but seeing as there are alot of new people, I could handle saying the lock happens at 1:00am tuesday eastern

I second that motion.

yes, I think its two and then two poaches (like aparch said). suppose you could take 4 now but then you wouldnt get to raid a roster

the roster lock is somewhat arbitrary.. i understand its monday to monday, but the first lock shouldnt be until the final five playoff games are about to start

Well no, the standard rules were unlimited moves until noon eastern the monday before the final five. Then 4 moves a week running noon to noon on mondays there after...2 being poaches. Your first 2 poaches actually occur next monday after noon.

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

i get all that. i just think its arbitrary to only get a few hours after most teams' seasons end on sunday night to make unlimited moves to release anybody by noon of the next day.. only to sit with rosters locked for the next 3 days at exactly at 12:01 and be subject to a move maximum. especially since you cant drop a player who played on sunday until monday morning anyway.

to put it another way, the only reason a person would make a move this tuesday instead of monday is if they werent able to get to their computer in that short window between 7 am and noon. there are no additional games, no movements in pairwise.. nothing that gives you a decided advantage in waiting to drop your players. unless i'm missing something.

FWIW, i got all my changes done this morning, but i think UNH69 should get to keep the third guy he picked up (then dropped). its not like anything changed in that players eligibility between noon and now - all the games went final.

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

Making my last minute changes before the "lock."

Successfully dropped Baier, Eric (Providence) for DeKeyser, Danny (Western Michigan)
Successfully dropped Krug, Torey (Michigan State) for Weber, Will (Miami)

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

We can't make any roster moves now? Dang... the last I got to look was on Sunday. Just saw these posts now.
Can we make moves from the bench to active? I've got 2 guys active that their team got knocked out on Sunday but I still want them because they'll be in the NCAA's. Can I move them to the bench?

And today I have jury duty, so can't do anything today.
What's the harm in leaving the roster moves open until Wednesday?

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

Regular Season Rules
Roster Moves
You can move players freely between your active roster, your bench, and the free-agent pool using the tools available on the GM Home page. You can only move players between the bench and the free agent pool, or the bench and the active roster - if you want to drop an active-roster player into the free agent pool altogether, you have to drop him from the active roster to the bench, then from the bench to the free agent pool. Players may not be moved within twelve hours of the start time of a game in which their team is playing; this is to prevent GM's from starting a player at 7pm, dropping him at 7:30 and picking someone else up for an 8:00 game.

You can make as many moves as you would like within those guidelines. For example, if one of your active-roster players starts a game at 7:00 EST, you will not be able to move him to the bench or drop him until 7:00 AM. However, if a player is on your active roster but does not play until 9:00 EST (such as a game in the mountain time zone), you will have the opportunity to move him right up until the game time for his game, irrespective of who else is on your roster and their game times.

Furthermore you can active players for specific games then bench them the day after. There is no "week" concept as in fantasy football or the predecessor to this league.
Playoff Rules
In each matchup, the winner will inherit the seeding of the higher seed, no matter who wins. Ties go to the higher seed. Only the top eight GM's make the playoffs. All the regular roster move rules apply for the playoffs.
I have been under the assumption that the only thing that changes is the poaching of two players from a team you beat.

Well the "week"concept went away a few years ago with the new site...there certainly is a "week" concept in the playoffs...how else would you decide when the matchup is over?

Bench to active is completely ok at any point when they are allowed by the site. bench to free agent is limited to 4 starting whenever we decide.

Steve, due to the complexity of enforcing these types of rules directly on the site, I left the enforcement of playoffs to be developed and enforced by individual leagues. The rules page also states, "individual leagues are encouraged to devise their own rules for disbursing players from eliminated teams, etc."

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

By the way, full disclosure, for some reason the USCHO box score for 2/25 UW vs SCSU does not list goalies so those are not included in the point totals. Sorry, no way around that.

Considering switching to collegehockeystats.net for next year.

Steve... you are in USCHO 3 correct?
I'll second that for our league (roster moves until Thursday before F5 starts)... then we go to the 4 moves, 2 being poaches next Monday?

I'm a rookie here, so thanks for the help everyone.
I have no goalies! Well... I have NU's Rawlings, but he'll be gone Friday. :( :) ;)

Re: Fantasy College Hockey #9 (The Apricot-Flavored Season)

OK, so I'm thinking that 4 moves total is okay this week. I've added these two (weak!) moves in USCHO-3

UNHSince1969 Bergman, Wade (D/Minnesota-Duluth)
Marcou, Michael (D/U. Massachusetts)
Bench-Free Agent March 17th, 12:53 PM EST

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNHSince1969 Heywood, Jordan (D/Merrimack)
Sims, Shane (D/Ohio State)
Bench-Free Agent March 17th, 12:49 PM EST

Good luck this week boys!
