No...not a big deal to me. Lynah mentioned it and I found an article on it.

Glad to hear it. So strike anything in that post directed at you(with apologies), and send it on to Ms. Huffington with a big sloppy kiss. There's a deep, dark secret as to why CFA is doing so well (shhhhhh, don't tell anyone): They have good products and good service in an industry generally characterized by neither.

the older generation fiscally banrupted us. the newer generation is morally bankrupting us. heaven help us what the following generation will do.

Yeah, because giving people the right to do what they want so long as it doesn't harm anyone else is truly a bad thing.

Activist liberal judges. And everbody smart.

Apparently the notion of "ability to consent" has no place in GOP spin zones. Then again, this is the party that refuses to believe in evolution and believes the Earth is only 4000 years old, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised

Good grief, Bob, use that brain you believe God gave you.

And where do you suppose the "truthers" and assassination conspiracy types and Area 51 doofusses and alien abduction morons hang their political hats primarily? These fools strike you as Republicans? Noted metalurgist Rosie O'Donnell? There are ignorant people, with outrageous beliefs in both parties.

You know what else they do? Stereotype.

Conservatives wouldn't be stupid enough to call for a boycott over innocuous statements from a business owner. Or else we'd be boycotting all over the place. We just aren't rabid enough because fundamentally we just want to be left alone, whereas your folks want to ram their agendas down everyone else's throats and force everyone to endorse what they want.

And of course, the AFA's boycott list is too long to list. A few highlights: Saturday Night Live, Domino's Pizza, Abercrombie, Home Depot, Google, Ford, McDonalds, and Hallmark

But other than that...

I'm sure it'll be OK just because they are somehow 'principled'. ;) :p

After all, in America it's always, "my guy is principled, your guy is the nutjob."

Wait, wait, I can't keep up, slow down. And all of this research is designed to prove what? That some libstains aren't crazy, too? Try again, Mortimer.

And all of this research is designed to prove what?

1. I wanted to support the gay rights agenda by using Google.

2. I wanted to infringe on Bob's first amendment rights by pointing out what he said was patently false.

Judging by the recent dustup, the gay rights brown shirts don't need your help. You also quoted Pat Robertson from '97. My favorite recent quote is when he asked "Macaroni and cheese, is that a black thing?"

Anyway, there are plenty of extremeoids out there, left and right. Oh, and the relevant datum on Russell Pearce is "former" senator.

Re: Elections 2012 -- Carrion My Wayward Son!

From what I can tell, there are basically two seriously compelling reasons to oppose Obama term II: fiscal irresponsibility (of which Romney would surely be even worse, so then what?) and a disdain for constitutional process which is summarized like nowhere I have seen in the Detroit News. This is also something that's not limited to Democrats, but Obama would seem to be the worst in this area.
In a blatant challenge to the legislative branch, Obama by executive order tossed out the Clinton-era welfare reform that required able-bodied aid recipients to work, saying the federal government will no longer enforce the law.

This follows the president's unilateral rewrite of immigration law, using an executive order to implement elements of the DREAM Act, which Congress refused to adopt. He also has thumbed his nose at the No Child Left Behind Act, and has put in place cap-and-trade carbon rules that were specifically rejected by Congress.

He can't do these things, by any reading of the Constitution. And yet he is. Because Congress, whose powers he is usurping, hasn't risen to stop him.
Other thoughts?

Good article, though what it highlights bodes ill for our nation. Sadly many don't care about constitutional processes if they can achieve their ends by circumventing them. From the California Democrats' unwillingness to defend their standing laws when they don't like them to Obama's many foibles discussed in that article, respect for the legislative process and existing laws is eroding quickly.

Much ado about nothing. Obama isn't granting waivers because he wants more layabouts. He's doing it at the request of the states who want to design their own presumably more effective systems. Waivers are commonly granted for No Child Left Behind requirements as well as with Medicare/Medicaid. Unsurprisingly Mittens was in favor of states getting waivers for welfare policies when governor...

On a larger note, it fits exactly into what I was discussing with Kep. All this obstructionism has gotten the GOP nothing except for the worst rating in polling history. All Obama need do is govern by executive order if Congress plans on sitting around with their thumb up their @ ss and good for him. Even on immigration if the idiot House majority won't act and the Senate majority filibusters everything, just issue a directive about who will and won't be deported. Its called "leadership".

Re: Elections 2012 -- Carrion My Wayward Son!

just issue a directive.........Its called "leadership".

Would you support this approach or attitude under GW Bush? Someone said the other day that when Castro first gained office, nobody expected him to be a communist dictator. But a few months of "leadership" later, and they were stuck with him for life.

Re: Elections 2012 -- Carrion My Wayward Son!

Doesn't government by Executive Order start down a slippery slope towards dictatorship? Shame on us for allowing it.
