Election Results Thread

Not the office holders. Their advisors, speechwriters, lawyers, generals, strategists, teachers, spouses, drivers, barbers and constituents. Nothing has really changed due to this vote. We didn't all suddenly become evil just because the PO'd people got fed up enough with the status quo to turn out in bigger numbers than the rest of us.

Almost 50% of the electorate voted explicitly for some of the most repugnant ideas I've heard in the political sphere.

That's a big deal. And with support in both houses, he has the means to make good on some of them.

And, quite frankly, sentiments against religious freedom, against minorities, against women, against the disabled, against the poor... all validated by 50% of the electorate.

Re: Election Results Thread

If anything, the GOP had NO ONE BETTER than Trump, somehow, to run this year.

That being said, if the Dems have any sense, they will have heard the "voice" of the anti-establishment vote, and listen next time. Of course, this is assuming that Trump will indeed win this election (this won't be over for a week; hello recounts). And it should SHOULD be a landslide unless the GOP find a golden child to run. I can't imagine Trump lasting two terms. Hell, I can't imagine him lasting one term.

It's not that the country is any darker tonight than it was yesterday. It's learning that the country was darker than I ever realized. I'm going to go to bed and apologize to my daughter in the morning. Luckily she's 2 and won't know what the f I'm talking about.

Remember when we said this election was the end of the Republicans? They already did their purge, and (they think) they repudiated neo-conservatism with this vote. Just wait until Trump goes to war (which they will love of course - he's duped them)

This loss is going to lead to a purge of any and all remaining "Third Way" conservative Dems. The Bernie Bros are rising, and they are *(*#$(#*ing pi55ed.

Awfully ironic that someone named geezer can't remember back sixteen God-****ed years.

Trump got 8% more of Latino vote than Mitt. And got more of the white vote.

I've said it and I'm gonna keep repeating it: Third Way has to die.

These people voted for a President who now is going to have complete control...they gave the GOP power in what is soon to be all three branches of Government not 8 years after the same party with much of the same members cratered the country. Pardon me if I dont trust them to tie their own shoes let alone do the right thing.

Scooby was right...Michael Moore was right...Bill Maher was right and those of us that had faith in the good nature of people were wrong.

Re: Election Results Thread

Basically the #NeverTrump movement within the GOP was all posturing.

Trump got 90% of the GOP vote. Don't ever ****ing tell me that Trump doesn't represent the GOP.
