Re: ECAC pick pool - Week11 results
Questions of the week.....
Will Mazotta be able to Play in the big game......? NO ...think she's out for a while given that the word is that her foot has been in a walking cast. Big reason why I would expect Mercyhurst to prevail.
Will the Crimson stay Hot and climb and get bck into top 10 contention....? YES ...significant upgrade in recent team play has been noted, perhaps tied to some recent roster shakeups and tactics changes
Which Dartmouth team will show up this weekend.....? A BETTER ONE THAN LAST WEEKEND...though up and down all year, they don't ever seem to stay down for long.
Will Babstock stay Hot and win the ECAC scoring title as a rookie.....? YES...she's definitely the most talented scorer in this league....unless of course she gets injured, god forbid
Can the Bobcats go 3-0 and make a push for the top 10....? YES and MAYBE....these games shouldn't be too difficult for the Bobcats if they are on their form, but similarly, wins against weaker competition don't necessarily prove them worthy of maintaining top 10 ranking ahead of some others
Can the Dutch Women spring a surprise....? NOT THIS WEEKEND...but they ARE getting close. They are no longer the pushover they once were.
Can the Bears rebound from the Erie trip....? COULD GO EITHER WAY, BUT PROBABLY NOT....playing top competition could help them get to the next level of play, but is more likely given their current relative position just going to negatively affect their mindset. Then again, both SLU and Clarkson are showing themselves to be very vulnerable this season, so who knows. With Brown's superior goaltending, combined with their upcoming opponents' recent difficulty in mustering high shot volumes, it's not that big a longshot.
The fight for the playoff spots is getting hot, with 6 teams in the mix in a tight race for four spots. Yup, this weekend is a very big one in terms of starting to sort out the playoff picture. I'd bet on Colgate and Clarkson to end up on the outside when all is said and done...and I'm sure no one really wants to end up in that 8th position either. The differences between 2nd and 10th really aren't all that big, so once the playoffs start, anything could happen in most matchups.
