ECAC Predictions - 2010 - 2011

ECAC pick pool - Week 16 lineup.

ECAC pick pool - Week 16 lineup.

This is the last week of both the pool and ECAC regular season. Still lots at stake.
Jockeying for the 6,7,8 spots promises to be most interesting. Three of the four teams in this mix are facing each other HTH in several key matchups.
Clarky vs SLU, SLU vs RPI and Clarky vs RPI. They all control their own destiny. Meanwhile Colgate will try to play spoiler in this party of three with visits to Havard and Dartmouth.
Good luck to all.

Tuesday, February 15:
Clarkson at St. Lawrence ... Going with history on this one. More pressing for SLU to win.
Brown at Yale ......... Snickeris will steal the show again

Quinnipiac at Yale ... Bobcats in a race with the Tigers for home field
St. Lawrence at Union ... SLU's make-up game to pull even with RPI

Saturday, February 19:
Colgate at Dartmouth ... Colgate comes up empty handed and must hope for the right result between RPI-SLU
Clarkson at Union ... Clarky solidly in 6th place to face Darty in the play-offs
Cornell at Harvard ... 1 vs 2, This game will just confirm the pecking order.
Princeton at Yale ... Tigers in a race with the Bobcats for home field, they will face each other in the play-offs
Quinnipiac at Brown ... Bobcats in a race with the Tigers for home field, they will face each other in the play-offs
St. Lawrence at Rensselaer ... Head to Head, Winner to play Harvard, loser to play Big Red or go home.

Re: ECAC pick pool - Week 16 lineup.

Big win for the Saints, 2-1 in OT over Clarky . Vanessa Emond was the Hero.

Makes it very interesting for this coming weekend for the final push to the playoffs:

Current standings:

06 Clarkson........ 20 8-08-4 20 .500 44- 45 32 11-15- 6 .438 61- 75
07 Colgate......... 20 8-10-2 18 .450 36- 51 31 11-17- 3 .403 60- 84
07 Rensselaer...... 20 8-10-2 18 .450 41- 51 31 10-14- 7 .435 58- 84
07 St. Lawrence.... 20 9-11-0 18 .450 45- 47 32 14-16- 2 .469 80- 81
10 Yale............ 19 6-11-2 14 .368 36- 48 26 7-16- 3 .327 46- 67

If we presume Clarkson and SLU winning over Union and Yale over Brown you end up in this scenario:

06 Clarkson........ 21 09-08-4 22
07 St. Lawrence.... 21 10-11-0 20
08 Colgate......... 20 08-10-2 18
08 Rensselaer...... 20 08-10-2 18
10 Yale............ 20 06-11-2 16

SLU and Clarkson face RPI.
RPI faces Clarkson and SLU.
Colgate faces Harvard and Dartmouth.
Yale faces Quinnipiac and Princeton.

Clarkson needs a tie vs RPI to clinch, or a loss by SLU, Colgate or RPI
(Since RPI and SLU face each other, Dartmouth is in provided they beat Union)

SLU needs a tie vs RPI to get in, or Colgate only getting one point in their games.

RPI almost a must win over SLU to secure a spot.
(A win over SLU would tie them with SLU and RPI wins the tie breaker, but then if Yale wins both of their games, you end up in a 3 way tie, or with Colgate getting 2/4 points you could even get into a 4 way tie)
The other option for RPI to get in is to beat Clarkson and tie SLU, and hope that neither Colgate nor Yale sweep their weekend.

Colgate needs two points and help to get in, or win both remaining games.

Yale is hanging on by a prayer. Win all their games and hope for the right n-way tie to get in.
