ECAC Playoffs, 2011

Re: ECAC Playoffs, 2011

Surely there remains unfinished business for Dartmouth in the Bay State. Ouch. Twice, O U C H! Only...ONLY perhaps to get a chance to play there again would I make sure I came out on top tomorrow.
Well in recent history, Harvard surely has done better against Dartmouth than Quinnipiac. That's four wins in a row against Dartmouth, and 8 of the last 9. Since causing future ECAC goalie of the Year Vigilanti to be pulled in a 7-2 rout early in 09-10, Harvard lost 1-0, then lost 4-1 to Quinnipiac, and were down 2-0 entering the third period in their last three games against Quinnipiac. Harvard came back and won the last one 3-2, but it took 44 total shots on goal. I also think Quinnipiac with the hot goalie has the better chance to upset Cornell than Clarkson. Clarkson had better regular season results against Cornell, but Quinnipiac played Cornell earlier in the year.

Re: ECAC Playoffs, 2011

Albeit in a different order. IIRC last years semi's had Cornell vs Harvard and Clarky vs RPI. Did Quinny not lose in a marathon to RPI in last years quarters ?.

Not quite. Cornell played RPI in last year's semis (winning 5-4) and Harvard played Clarkson (losing 3-2). Q-Pac did lose to RPI in that marathon game you referred to.

Right.....The Cornell-Harvard matchup I was thinking of was the NCAA quarter then ?.

See Coach. ;)

IMHO, a huge, H U G E asset for DCW'sIHT.

(Ask ticket takers, vendors, etc, at Thompson about women's ice hockey coach!)

("Like")

   I'm multilingual, but now I need a PMD (Pap-Morse-Decoder) to decipher this one. :o

P S..This I do know, Clarky leading 3-2 late on a JLR goal.

Re: ECAC Playoffs, 2011

Dumais with the game winner!!!

Her second of the night. Any signs of a Pap celebration yet ?.

Must have been one hell of a game, Dartmouth outshot Clarkson 19-1 in the OT. Wow.

This ruins my perfect prediction record for round one. :( :(

Re: ECAC Playoffs, 2011

Cornell over RPI....Sweep
Harvard over SLU...I can see SLU taking one game as they do have some fire power.
Clarkson over Dartmouth....In an exciting 3 game series.
Quinnipiac over Princeton....Tough one to call, Princeton more hot in second half, but neither team convincing last weekend. Think the Quinnipiac Tender to be the difference maker here.

3 - 1 in the predicting the winners.
2 - 2 in predicting the right series margins.

Nose on the button on the "In an exciting 3 game series" for the Clarky-Darty matchup.

Good luck to the remaining teams.......

Here is my predictions for the semi's.....

Cornell over Quinny.......This will be tight, Vigilante will hang in there, but too much fire power to last.
Harvard over Dartmouth...Classic matchup. Harvard has more offensive weapons, and that will be the difference

Do they? I haven't seen Dartmouth, but the Big Green look as productive or slightly more so near the top of the stats.

Re: ECAC Playoffs, 2011

Dartmouth didn't seem to be as gassed in the overtime period as Clarky, thus the lop-sided shots on goal. Or, maybe they had a new shipment of Whoopie PIes delivered on campus!

You funny.

Did celebrate here in my dinning room!

Am here also, Doctor, hard at work on lacrosse poll for mañana.

I am one of marvelous group decoding women's lax results for Lax Power. There am, Rafterjack (my Appalachian Trail through hiker's trail name...) They, Lax Power, don't entirely understand Pap any more perhaps sometime than United States College (Ice) Hockey On Line women's college ice hockey fans.

Did 'employ'/get juju out (just before OT), CAREFULLY.

Pappy/Jack (no dis-respect), you are hereby deputized to make the trip down to the Bay State on this Thursday, to help out the cheering section for those fans unable to make a l,000 mile trip, to cheer on the Big Green against the mighty Crimson! Go Big Green!

Yes, Dartmouth definitely has better offensive numbers than Harvard this season. But clearly Harvard has had an exceptional last two weeks offensively, with 7 against Colgate, 3 against Cornell (still exceptional), then 6 & 8 against SLU. Before this stretch, Buesser had less than half the points she had last season. Now she has 5 goals and 3 assists in her last four games. Harvard's top 3 senior forwards, who had been a bit quieter than I expected for most of the season, seem to be firing on all cylinders now.

Base my view on having seen both teams play twice.

Glad it made you smile. That was the intent. Love your unwavered loyalty to the Big Green. Me Thinks it's a breath of fresh air.

There is enough misery in the world. I worked two 16 hours shifts this weekend, emergency issues, so this site is a welcome relief during the odd 20 minutes that I could get away from it.

Keep up the good postings. I do enjoy them very much.

Next year when I visit the Big Green in Hanover we should meet...Our team can use some of that JuJu...You can let me in on the secret ? :) ......OnMAA
