ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

OMG!

SLU up 2-0, over Dartmouth with 7 min. plus minus to go in third- argh.
I had bet the farm w. 'friends' and promised 500 mile round trip tomorrow to take in rubber match. May be for naught.

Ah, Dartmouth.

Team, coaches owe me- fans; went into OT game mentioned in above post down a player (on a penalty ) then pulled the goalie. Worked.

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

The ECAC "Frozen Four" (all 3 games) will be played at Lynah starting Friday! Finals on Saturday! Who will join Cornell and SLU in Ithaca?

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

Princeton and Harvard are tied in the 3rd and Clarkson up 1-0 on Quinnipiac in the 2nd.

Now Princeton ties it up with extra-attacker goal by Butler!

Clarkson up 2-0 on Quinnipiac. Looks like this series is headed to game 3.

How long OT?

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

Scoring on the game-winner:
Harvard 17:59 Gedman, Marissa (Dempsey, Jillian & Reber, Samantha)

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

Surprisingly tough series for Harvard although I expected that both games would be close. Jillian Dempsey got the 'true' hat trick; a shortie, even strength and a PP goal. Credit Princeton for fighting back to tie late in the game. Harvard needs to tighten up defensively if they want to make the finals.

Cornell looks to be back on their game and the SLU-Dartmouth series went as I expected it would. Now we wait and see about Clarkson and Quinny. I'm hoping Clarkson wins that one because SLU looks unstoppable at the moment.

Re: ECAC Quarterfinal Playoff 2012 thread Which May be the, 'Semi's'?

A problem with rooting for Clarkson to win: if SLU upsets Cornell, then Harvard probably has to win the ECAC to make NCAAs. Probably less chance of Quinnipiac upsetting Cornell. I'm also guessing there must be some way SLU is a favorable matchup for Harvard if there was a 13-2 scoring difference between the teams, granted those games were eons ago.

The semifinals are held on campus sites which means Harvard will be hosting either SLU or Clarkson next Thursday and Cornell will host the lowest remaining seed (SLU or Quinny). The finals are held on Saturday at the highest remaining seed's campus site. Unless this was altered to revert back to prior years, this is the way it will be going forward.
