ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

According to KRACH, these are the probabilities of each lower seed winning: (no home-ice adjustment)
Brown 1%
Princeton 13%
Quinnipiac 30%
SLU 52%

These are the probabilities of each team being the lowest seed advancing to the quarterfinals:
Brown 1%
Princeton 13%
Quinnipiac 26%
SLU 31%
Dartmouth 29%

The probability of each team being the lowest seed, conditional on some road team winning:
Brown 1%
Harvard 19%
Quinnipiac 36%
SLU 44%

The Princeton vote share is actually fairly reasonable. The Brown-Cornell number is the only one totally out of whack.

Cool, so I was not far off with my top of the head numbers earlier on. Not surprised to see that by the numbers SLU is favored over Dartmouth.

Uh, not to burst a bubble here but Harvard can't be considered a lowest seed since they finished second in the conference. :)

Re: ECAC Playoff 2012 thread

$15. That is pretty steep. What happened to the $8 tickets you see at most places ?.

Add to that the $10.00 to park, and you've got an expensive night of women's hockey, but we have had this discussion before.

I luckily don't have to worry about parking for now but the $15 is a little too steep on my budget, especially since I am so used to free hockey with NU involved.

Not to nitpick, but.....

Are we not already in the Quarter Finals ?.

Most of the time manage to find some cheap or free parking. Just walk a little longer.

It is actually cheaper to park in the B-School parking lot ($5). However this weekend there are two events the B-School is hosting and both are sold out so it may be tougher to get access to the lot.

EX-actly. I keep refiguring it in my head, uhh? Uh, let's see: eight teams- four games; yeah that SEEMS right. Uh, four teams, then two teams, no games left- so 'semi's'? Uh? Jeez, is HARD! Maybe if I write it down. No, I got a pad. But, thanks! Uh? Let's see, uh, four would seem like "quarter", say, as in one fourth (see the four there?)? Right? Right. Let's see...? Uh- No! No because only two games left so has to be semi finals. But then...

Yup we is all to be playing nickel, dime, quarter finals; place yr. money/bets down!

I generally see games at Bright during the week. Leaving work at 5 from 40 miles away, Boston traffic...doesn't leave much time to hunt for parking, walk, stand in line for tix. If I'm paying $15.00 a ticket, I sure don't want to miss the first 10 minutes! CATCH 22 - SAVE MONEY OR GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR:confused:
