Mark, your flag is torn. ;)
It's not a flag but a flag-themed banner, so I don't feel as bad about that. It shredded during the night but I can't get to it until I shovel off the deck or the lower walkway. The wife and I spent the better part of the last 6 hours shoveling and snow blowing. The truck is free, the driveway is clear, and we can open the gate. Tomorrow we'll dig out the other 2 cars.

well, as long as your smart dogs are able to dig themselves out without your shoveling, that's not quite so bad then, eh?
I believe his dogs were the dumb ones. They wouldn't pee in the driveway which was clear.

Highly impressed. Can't believe you got that out before the spring thaw.

My wife was screaming like we just won the national championship! Our neighbor across the street was shoveling her driveway and walked over to make sure everything was ok. Four+ hours chasing the 24" snowblower up and down the driveway through 3 and 4 ft drifts and over an hour flat on my stomach digging out from under the truck. I almost recited Dr. Martin Luther King "Free at last, free at last. I thank God I'm free at last." ;)

Still snowing here, plowed twice but still haven't got up the courage to go down the hill. Guess I'll put the chains on the tractor tomorrow, then its more likely to make it down and back. This snow is going to be here for awhile, I liked bare ground better

Re: Eastern Bias- Blizzard stories

Sun is out and starting to set. Shows all the wild ridges in the snow from the wind. Looks like snow dunes

Starting to get worried. Can't raise one of the Aunties. Now dark. They still have no power there. The other one hasn't heard from her which is highly unusual. Saying a prayer.

Re: Eastern Bias- Blizzard stories

I would have killed to have a lift ticket and lodging Sugarloaf or Sunday River this morning...

Re: Eastern Bias- Blizzard stories

Where were you Bruins fans yesterday? We left Portland at 2 after checking their site, the roads were fine, and when we parked at 4:45 the parking attendants told us the game was canceled. Then we found the email that the B's sent out at 3:45 about the cancellation. We certainly didn't see a road issue, but if it was due to roads, they knew that and could have made the decision and announcements by noon. At least we had a great meal in the North End.
