When it comes to 1 bid conferences - I totally agree. Just send the regular season champ. :)

RIT also played Union (well, technically it was a game) - it was not pretty. Granted it was early in the year but I think they were the best team they faced this year. I think this is the year an ECAC team finally makes the Frozen Four when Union and Yale meet for the regional championship. But I am rooting for AFA.

The Yale band was in BPT in 2009 and Worcester last year, I think they will make it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the UMD Pep Band made the trip. Not sure if they are or not...

Having seen two games this past month in brand spanking new Amsoil Arena, if UMD brings their band, it will be a welcome addition to your regional. Better still would be if they bring their skating cheerleader hotties. Trust me.

Methinks UMD prevails in this regional.

How about a synopsis of UMD.
It will be interesting to see how they matchup against Union

tUMD has a dynamic top line of Fontaine, JConnolly and MConnolly. Steep dropoff of scoring after that.

Two Bulldogs were named to WCHA All-Rookie team: F - JT Brown and D- Justin Faulk

Weakness is in goal and everyone knows it. Very shaky at best.

PP is decent, PK average.

Will need to win the special teams and get average goaltending to advance.

They didn't when UMD played in the regional in 2004. Well, I don't remember the band being there anyway... :D

This has turned into the happy quiet regional thread, Yale and Union fans are too afraid the trash talk each other because we know either can beat the other, and the two teams from out west do not have a huge presence on the board. Actually after last year I like it this way. I can't wait for the games and may hit Murphys Law for lunch on Friday. I will be the handsome dude in the blue #14 Yale sweater.;)

The team you cheer for is inferior to the team I cheer for.
