East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

. Butler showed me why he's getting all the accolades he is, quick, smart, and fun to watch.

Looking forward to a good one tonight. I don't think UNH will be quite as dry as Denver was, but I won't officially make a pick because both my picks for this regional have already gone wrong!
completely agree... Butler looked really impressive, and is hopefully making a great case to make the Hobey hat trick between last night, and w/e he does tonight against RIT.

good luck to both squads tonight! see you there!

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

No opportunity now for Cats to settle score with DU for the Amherst regional in 2004, but I think that Bucky Badger will be at Ford Field to meet the Albany regional winner and the Cats have many scores to settle with them including a FF semi's OT loss in 1977. But, got to get past RIT first, which did the AHA proud again last night. Should be a great game tonight; hope that a few more Cats fans will make it out, as RIT will be sending bus loads from a distance almost as far as Durham.

very true , only difference is unh has been in ncaa s last nine years , so eagerness with fan base is a little lacking and has been this year.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

You can check the RIT alumni association. They have tickets for $40. If you want to save a few bucks than getting it at the door. Whatever you do, don't get tickets online at tickets.com.

Well I'm still a student, so I don't know if I could get tickets from the alumni association.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

I'm not sure why UNH didn't draw as well, but the start time was probably a big factor. I know a large number of Cornell fans had already taken off work to come to Albany last weekend, so they were only going to come this week if Cornell made it through to Saturday.

Props to the Corner Crew and the other RIT faithful. You did good, guys.

I'll make a pick, UHN rolls to Detroit. RIT was great yesterday but they're done

It can also be kinda hard to get the Friday off from work to get up here when you only have 5 or 6 days notice.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

only one of us wore a Yankees hat, and that was admittedly me :D

again, fantastic job last night... really looking forward to tonight's game

we should probably be over in the same area tonight.... come on over and say hello :)

I was wondering who the crazy people in BU jerseys were.

Now if we could figure out who the gang of guys in Maine jerseys were... They had to feel really out of place there.

I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb today as the jerk in a bright gold jersey.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

You heard it here first: RIT will upset Denver! The Chevy is overdue for maintenance.

1)Take it to the bank
2) Bet the farm
3) Boone is going home after one game

FIRE SCOTTY OWENS

I told you so. DU SUCKS, but not as much as Scott Owens and his ultra-poor coaching style.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

Congrats to RIT! Great game UNH!

Thanks for the mention ;) My grandma said the same thing :p

Tomorrow it will look better
Don't listen to Freak. Spike mohawk = win.

Not to take away from UNH because they played a great game and really took it to Cornell. Really curious to see them tomorrow against RIT.
Not gonna lie, I'm a little scared.

This is why:
That is the first time UNH has put three solid periods together since at BU in January.

I am concerned that they will not bring this game tomorrow, just been so inconsistent all year.
If UNH plays like they did tonight, I think they should win. The question is, will they? RIT has a hot goalie, and a team with a TON of confidence. Recipe for disaster.

RIT can't play with that much energy and with that hot of a goalie two nights in a row, UNH will win this while the crowd of 500(after RIT fans leave) falls asleep
That's what people said about the first-game upsets last year...

Tomorrow is going to be worse. I am guessing 2000. More if unh fans show. But I doubt. They will I realluly thought unh fans travel
Friday night, 2-3+ hour drive, $80 ticket package, high gas prices, hotel most likely needed, cost of eating out, and team not playing great in the last two gams. Yeah, not the easiest sell. Tonight should be better.

It can also be kinda hard to get the Friday off from work to get up here when you only have 5 or 6 days notice.
This is another great point. Were this a Saturday/Sunday series, I think the overall attendance would have been better.

LET'S GO BLUE!!

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

OK.........can we finally, unequivocally say that Albany has completely lost it's mojo as a site for hockey???

I'd love to go back to Lake Placid. The championship there in 1988 is one of my fondest memories. An absolute great time.

No reason a regional shouldn't be at least as fun. Has to be better than Albany.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

Just wanted to offer my congrats to RIT and UNH. I'd like to make excuses that Cornell and Scrivens had an off night, which I think they did, but even if they were on their game I don't think they would've been able to handle UNH last night. Butler looked amazing. Best of luck to both of the teams the rest of the way.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

Congrats to RIT from a Denver fan. DU really forced the play at times, but RIT had a shot clang off the post, and missed a pretty open net another time. So I can't say that DU was unlucky. Seems to me that the deserving team won. Good luck to RIT the rest of the way.

Thoughts of our 04 and 05 national titles will get me through the day. But I'm getting tired of getting booted from the dance way too early!

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

Congrats RIT. Never saw this coming. Best of luck in the Frozen Four.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

And congrats to RIT from this UNH fan. You deserved the win -- best of luck in Detroit.

Re: East Regional: #1 Denver v. #4 RIT; #2 Cornell v. #3 New Hampshire

I said that RIT had a legitimate chance to make it to the Frozen 4. They are showing the rest of the hockey world they are for r eal. They are a talented group that can score, has played great defense all year long and the have great goaltending. This team is as good as any in this tourney. 8 goals for...3 goals against. This team belongs in the Frozen 4. This team CAN WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ! Once again,my nephew plays for HC so I know how good RIT is. CONGRATS RIT...YOU MAKE AHA PROUD. UNDER DIV 1...I POSTED ...RIT RUNNING ON FULL SPEED...PAGE 2.THESE WERE NO UPSETS. THE BETTER TEAM WON IN BOTH GAMES! GO TIGERS !!!
