as a woman, I see both sides. I want to get rid of the centrists as much as anyone.

but would a pregnant woman have been dragged across the pavement yesterday in MSP if kamala had won? no. would all other problems be fixed? again, no.

Btw, reports are mixed on whether or not that pregnant woman's fetus is ok.

No of course not...and I know you know that isnt the argument I am making as well. :) ICE would still be pulling crap and our immigration policy would be draconian (remember she supported the Bipartisan Bill that we all hated) but they would be more constrained and nowhere near the Gestapo.

This is not a "both sides are bad" argument...this is an argument that one side is bad and the other side doesn't really care unless they have to. And while most of the time it makes sense to defend the latter I can totally understand why plenty of people don't at this point. If you were a Muslim would you trust any Democrat (outside Omar and a few others) to look out for your best interests or protect you? They couldn't even be bothered to play nice with Zohran even when it was obvious he was going to win HUGE! Like, what kind of politics is that? He is about to be Mayor of one of the most important cities in the friggin world, reversing a trend and re-invigorating the Dem voter base and youth voters and you accuse him of being antisemitic and freeze him out? The guy raised the maximum amount of money possible all from small donations and destroyed a political machine (TWICE) that was bankrolled in part by Republican Billionaires and the Dem Establishment sided with the Republican Billionaires! I dont know about you but that is not the party I want representing me.

The Dems have no message, they have no platform and they have no sense of why it is that people are leery of them especially the youth. That is why they still argue they lost last year because Harris was too Pro Trans. Apparently mentioning Trans People once is too much for people and they turned on her. Gavin gets off on photo ops destroying Homeless Encampments and circle jerking with people like Bannon and Charlie Kirk...and seeing as those people took glee at people like me losing my job for saying Kirk is a Nazi I am going to just say he can fuck and and re-marry Kimberly Guilfoyle since that is who he wants to hang with anyways. He and Jillian Michaels can go have a podcast together and cross promote with Bill Maher.

As for rufus, he asked what I am doing, I cut my money off from the DFL and Dems in general and donate to DSA. I want every Dem primaried and forced to make a stand and hopefully shift left in enough places to make a difference. I would rather support that. Omar is my rep and I will always vote for her so the DFL doesn't need me anyways. Beyond that I will vote for the candidate that is closet to my ideals in all elections. That will never be Gavin.

no, I don't really know what argument you're making then, but I'm exhausted. I think not voting is always a cop out.

if gavin is the nominee, then we've failed.

i've quit donations too, but even in the horrific state i'm in, not voting has never crossed my mind.
 
Put it this way...the only way I would vote for someone like Gavin is if Minnesota is legit in play like 2016. (within 2 points roughly) If that is the case then the Dems have already lost. You and I should not matter because Minnesota is not even going to be within the margin for error with any Democrat. So I will vote my conscience not fall for the "Vote Blue No Matter Who" canard that Mediocre White Men (and some women like your favorite Senator from New York) use to keep their stranglehold of power within the Democratic Party.

I wont vote for candidates who are willing to strip people of rights OR stand aside as others do. I dont care who the people are. I guess saying I wont vote might be incorrect...I wont vote for Gavin or anyone like him. Maybe I will write you in ;) I hear the pay is decent :p
 
Obama's failures weren't policy they were politics - for he too often ignored both Republican and Democratic members of Congress. Yes he had policy missteps but I shudder to think where we'd had he lost.

I am not saying that, please don't put words in my mouth.

I am saying unless you have a better idea it is hard to take your criticism seriously. Every strategy will always have awful outcomes. Politics is golf: there is no perfect shot, it is about the least awful shot.

Don't tell me that I am a callous idiot, I already know. Tell me what to do that is less callous and idiotic, or I am going to go with my way as the local minimum of terribleness.

I take Miss T's criticism seriously. That is why I am asking you, her, and anybody for a plan where she gets less of the shaft. So far it's crickets.
