Dump Term 2, Part 2: "A third term would be a big shattering."

Nah, the ICE raids are on you. However, I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for an acknowledgment of that fact.

Dig out the old immigration threads. My position on immigration was made crystal clear in those threads, but quickly shouted down by this crowd.

My position is, and has always been, this. If you want to move to the U.S., live here, work here, our response should be "welcome." Open border. All we insist is that you follow our rules. If you work, pay your taxes. If you want to drive, you need to get a driver's license. Pretty simple. But you don't get to be a citizen, and enjoy the rights and privileges that go along with being a citizen (such as holding government office or voting) unless you take the steps necessary to become a citizen and commit to this country.

Ah, but no, that was way too outrageous for all of you. Most of the responses were like, "that's ridiculous, what about sovereignty? Where will all these people live? What about all of the terrorists? We have to have specific rules about who, and how many can come into this country."

But I believe that I then left you with a word of caution. If you are going to allow government officials to set rules about who can enter the country, you better be prepared for unhappiness when the administration in power chooses to use those rules in a way not to your liking.

So, no, there is nothing about what ICE is doing that is acceptable or right or humane. But it's the system you wanted, so congrats.
And about all those people that did or are doing everything you say they should be doing and Donnie's deporting them anyway?

Such a minor little inconvenience to your lofty position. But you can't bother your little mind to address that little inconvenience, the strawman you've constructed is much easier to defend.

So now, Trump's handlers are going to try and get Fox News personalities security clearance so they can do a "produced security briefing" everyday since Trump doesn't read them and he rarely attends the meetings.

What a sh*t show......

Sorry if this has already been discussed.

15-20% uninsured

My 90 year-old grandfather recently got an unexpected $4000 refund check from his insurance company after last year's hurricane damage. He calls my dad to ask what's going on. Dad read the letter informing him they're canceling his policy and returning the remainder of his premium.

It's no surprise, his house is steps from the Myakka River flood zone whenever a hurricane goes shooting up Charlotte Harbor. So now we wait with baited breath for the day his house could become a total loss.
