So, Trump last week ordered USIP closed per Executive Order. I just noticed that on the USIP website, it says, in effect, "never mind the Trump EO, we operate under Congressional mandate." Fascinating.

Realistically, that’s the likely first step.

The other part to this is that the Democrats, or someone ready to overtake them, need to be working on a Project 2025 of their own, with short term, medium term, and long term plans.

Short term: What needs to be fixed right now.
Medium term: What can be improved without being inevitably shot down by the courts.
Long term: A 50 state plan to win enough seats for a supermajority so that the courts can be cleansed and constitutional amendments can be passed to make real permanent and near untouchable.

Seems as if Cheeto Von FuckStik is gonna sign an EO making English the official language of the US.

Remember the Japanese-American long time Senator from Hawaii (can't remember his name)? He was (I believe) the first one to introduce legislation to make English the official language. This thought is not new, nor is it limited to any political party. His reasoning was very interesting. One of his arguments pointed to Canada (at the time, the Quebec breakaway movement was at its peak), stating that language is an important facet of culture, and if you have a substantial group with a different language, it makes that group feel like they are not part of the overall culture of a country. And thus increases the chances of that group wanting to breakaway.

I get the legit ideas behind it. There is some argument to be made in more logical times (and I'm not against most of them).

Saw today that a $2.4 billion contract set up between Verizon and the gov't to overhaul the FAA system is on the chopping block. Elon's Starlink is set up to get the new contract for the same amount...

Yep, no CONFLICT OF INTEREST at DOGE.......along with no savings.

And it's such a comically bad idea. Unless the airport is in the middle of nowhere you should have some sort of terrestrial internet connectivity that will have sooo much more bandwidth and soooo much lower latency than any sort of satellite system, the latter of which would seem especially important for air traffic control. Moreso considering the vast vast majority of airports are going to be around urban areas with the highest concentration of land fiber-optic connectivity. I mean could they at least be a little more subtle with their scams.
