Dump Term 2, 1.01: Sleep Now in the Fire

If the military sided with Dump that would be a short war.

And SCOTUS cannot, by definition, act unconstitutionally.

All the pieces are there for the Nazis. All the Court needs to do now is rule Dem votes don't count. It was always there, just waiting for a country with a sufficient number of craven people who didn't care about democratic institutions and just wanted revenge and torture. And thanks to the last 50 years of Republican behavior, now we have it.

The only good news is, historically, when these regimes do fall, they typically take virtually every one of their supporters with them to the grave. So this is the beginning of post-derp America. We'll just be the ones who walk through the fire to get there. The Wheel of Fortune happened to land on us; coulda been anyone.

Yeah, dawn is coming. The problem is we're just entering the.night and it's going to be the longest night in human history.

Ok. Silver lining post.

While I think we're entering a time of horrible darkness, I do think these people are impossibly fu\cking dumb and they're going to cause enough people to get upset to oppose them.

Our opportunity is 2026. If 2026 is a failure, that's the ballgame. I greatly suspect the economy will be in tatters by 2026 so I guess we'll see!

You are talking about a situation where the Supreme Court has overtly upended the Constitution. It would be full-scale Civil War.

This is beyond naive. Who exactly is going to fight this civil war? Sorry dude but the military will back him they will invade the blue states and declare martial law, suspend habeous and The Empire begins. The United States ends and the Right wins. What resistance exists will be crushed.

Americans are too fat and lazy to fight against a tyrant on their home soil...especially when 49% voted for him.

The Supreme Court would be going back to the original text. They have done it before. They will end the Republic and couch it in Faux Originalism.

Hey...who needs Inspectors General anyways amirite?

Oversight is overrated.

By this time next year the DOJ will be going after Democrats openly, Gay Marriage will be outlawed, Medicare/Medicaid will be hanging by a thread, Abortion will either be dead or restricted to tbe point of imposdibility and Inflation will be ridiculous. And if Bird Flu hits...

Tired of winning yet?

I don't think you know / understand what originalism (or naive) means, at least in the context of interpreting the Constitution from a legal perspective. In your hypothetical, the Supreme Court would be overtly upending the Constitution. This isn't overturning Roe v. Wade or interpreting a statute in a crazed way. It would be akin to the Supreme Court saying slavery is legal. And if you think that is going to happen, then we will have to agree to disagree on who is being naive. "Dude."

Mexico refuses to allow deportation flight to Guatemala to fly over it's airspace.

Possibly means they might also refuse flights of Mexican migrants to land in Mexico.

Not even in the top 100. It just happens to be us and as I literally watch my wife sleep as I type this that sinks deep.

The history of the world is the powerful getting high on their own supply and immediately being butchered by the rest of us. This will be no different. And if 99% of us are slaughtered, in all honesty, will it matter?

It’s almost like Drumpf’s lack of understanding, acceptance, or even knowing such a subject exists, could prove problematic for both him and, worse, the US.

Deleted an earlier post. It was a paper from one of trump's cronies not with actual plans but apparently what they'd need to do to accommodate various levels of defense spending cuts.

Defense spending cuts? All for it.

Except with this administration, that means kicking out all women service members, and closing our bases all around the world.

Which leaves the perfect vacuum for Jhina to cruise right on in, what with Russia being a bit preoccupied at the moment.
