real quick fly by post then back to hiding.
Quiz and I both survived IM 70.3 Boulder. Our friends Kris and Mark were EVERYWHERE on the course and their cheering was definitely what got us through the 94+ degree heat on the run. I came across in 7:29:50 and Quiz did 7:54:05. I have 2nd degree sunburn on my shoulders and a race belt tramp stamp sunburn, but the battle scars make it worth it.
My goal was obviously to finish. You don't *k around with a race like this and in my first one, I didn't give a *k about time. My swim went as planned; my bike went better then expected; my run suffered greatly due to the heat. But a lot of people did. Over 1900 started; 1309 finished. At the 1/2way point of the run, I chatted with Kris for a minute (she's an Ironman) and she told me to just keep moving, get the run done, don't even worry about running. Just get it done. Hearing that helped so much.
It was a good day, and the visor proves it.
