Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Nice half-assed throw from Porcello on Pena's bunt. He owes Infante for cleaning that up at 2nd.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I don't care if Ankiel butchered that in the outfield. Huge props to Prince for busting his *** to score on that.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Okay, we didn't need to see the slo-mo replay of Peralta fouling one off of his ballbag there.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Interesting how the Astros had to turn around and play (as it turned out 14 innings) after getting home at 3 am from their swing to New York and Boston. Had to hurt to go that long and end up losing, but we'll take it.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Martinez clanks one off of what appears to be the top of the wall in RF. I don't think it's a home run, but we're going to replay.

EDIT: No homer.

2-0, top 4.

Omar....ugh......

Somehow I have the feeling that this will cost us the game.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And Fister is gone, along with the lead, partially due to Omar's butchery.

3-2 Astros, bottom 7, 0 out.

4-3 final.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Fielder got hosed there, but he's lucky to still be in the game.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

M. Cabrera is an incredible hitter. Just unbelievable how easy he makes it look.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

2-run shot by Martinez to make it 17-1. No, I'm not putting up a homer light for that, nor am I going and getting Giant Tiger after we win this. It's 17-to-freaking-1 over the Astros.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And the Tigers are in the end zone, and the extra point is good.

7-0, top 2.

Now it's only a matter of whether Verlander is reasonably sharp today. He wasn't in the 1st.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Carlos. ****ing. Pena.

Of course this little ****brick gets a hit when they're 8 runs down.
