Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I'm trying to figure out how Rondon got to the big club. he can't hold runners on and they are going to steal second 100% of the time. it's just a given.
he also walks a few and though he has good velocity he needs to get better. please send him back down.

also afredo Aceives is available and would be a good replacement for Dotel.

And finally, are we really putting Porcello in the pen and expecting he will be somehow better?

So much for smoking Jimmy's decree about "breaking the kid in" and "avoiding the pressure of a save situation".

Blown game #4 this season.

Nice follow up win, too. Good to see the bottom of the order come through. Porcello is on borrowed time no matter how Marlboro Man defends him.

Keep winning each series early and get to the part of the year where the pitching and hitting are on the same page.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

So I'm headed to Michigan Mother's Day weekend for a christening and it appears the Tigers are at home. Will it be easy to get tickets?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I'm not so sure anymore. Attendance is way up, and so are ticket prices.

In short, I'm not much help. :o

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I think we're going to see the tarp pretty soon. :(

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

All the same, I'd prefer that Fister would cease hitting opposing batters. Otherwise, Cabrera or Fielder are going to eat one shortly.

Ummm....an umbrella is not a good thing to use when trying to catch a baseball.

8-3 final.

Never a dull moment, I guess.

Possibly Friday night. Hard to say. Most home games have been near sell outs. I'm sure that there may be a few tickets to be had, although I believe the series is against the Indians- who always bring a good number of their fans. Don't count on Mother's Day- it sells out, especially if the weather cooperates.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

So, according to Riger on 97.1- Braves fans were "upset" that the Detroit media/fans were not giving their team more "respect" by talking about them or having a write up in the rags. Wonder how they feel about that this morning?
