Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Possibly Friday night. Hard to say. Most home games have been near sell outs. I'm sure that there may be a few tickets to be had, although I believe the series is against the Indians- who always bring a good number of their fans. Don't count on Mother's Day- it sells out, especially if the weather cooperates.

Looking at Saturday night. Maaaaaaaybe Friday night. We fly in Friday afternoon so it might be too close to call.

2-1 Twins, bottom 3.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And I thought Peralta yanked that one out of there.

4-3 final.

Benoit with a 1-pitch save. :/

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Living on starting pitching and the long ball. Got to give the Twins credit, they are a scrappy bunch that just hangs around in games.

Hopefully JV gets some offense behind him and some better luck. Would be nice for him to get on a roll early.

I have to time my business trips better, too. Just missed the Tigers (a week early) while in Seattle, and now am going to miss the swing to Houston by a couple days.

I'd call the ticket office for Saturday- counting on scalpers is a tough proposition, especially if the crowds are big. Weather is suppose to be okay this weekend, too far to tell next weekend, but temps will be in the 60's during the day at least next week with rain early in the week.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Verlander a little too high, velocity-wise, for my taste this early in the evening.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

They're insane if they don't walk Miggy here.

6-1 final.

Now let's go watch the Wings get beat.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Phil Coke to the DL. Jose Ortega recalled.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Well. That almost got interesting.

1st hit comes in the 5th inning

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Rondon awful again. Downs coming into a bases loaded mess.

4-2 Twins, 1 out, top 7.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Rondon back to Toledo. Luke Putkonen to Detroit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Per Baseball Reference:

Quentin Berry: hitting .206 with a .280 OBP in Toledo
Nick Castellanos: hitting .259, OBP .311 SLG .444
Danny Worth: hitting (if you want to call it that) .136, .224 OBP, .182 SLG

Casey Crosby: 5.32 ERA, 1.563 WHIP
Shawn Hill: 3.99 ERA, 1.200 WHIP

All the help we're going to get for a little while is already here.

you forgot Brandon Inge hitting 320, and ryan rayburn with 4 homes in two days.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

They're not in Toledo. :D And the Mud Hens fans aren't chucking peanuts at Inge anymore.
