Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

6-2 final tonight.
seems like they're really clicking a lot lately. Its against Houston, but they had a lot of problems on beating up on the lousy teams last year. Don't seem to have that problem this year.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Houston's absolutely hideous this year. They're already 20 games under .500 and 12 1/2 out. On May 14th.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I would say the AL West is lucky because they get to play them so much, but the Mariners and Angels have struggled. 8 of their wins have come from within the division. They're .333 (8-16) against the West and .142 (2-14) against everyone else.

Al Al to Toledo. Evan Reed recalled. More on him later.

Don Kelly couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, but I guess he was good enough to PH for a guy who was 3-3 yesterday.

KELLY!!!

1-1, top 3.

Apparently Lynn Henning is pleased with the fences in this park.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Surprised that Miggy got a double out of that. That thing got to the LF wall in about 1.3 seconds.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

If Verlander had to go to the bathroom, he'd crap himself, because he ain't got squat tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

That's the most ****ed up strikeout I've ever seen.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Verlander's been dog**** tonight. Plain and simple.

All right. Since we're not going to do diddly-dicky-doo tonight, might as well look at Evan Reed.

He's 27 and never been to the majors. He was really nice at AA, but everywhere else he's been dodgy at best. 5+ ERA at both AAA and A ball. ERA over 7 last year in AAA for the Marlins. Not much of a long-term prospect. 28-7 K/BB ratio in 21 IP this year in Toledo.

Oh, and he's coming into the game....right now. EDIT: Or maybe not.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Reed picks a guy off before he throws a pitch...and Prince drops the ****ing ball. JFC on a pickle spear.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And now Infante drops a ball trying to tag out the same runner. Christ, we're taking turns tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Valverde on to protect a 2-1 lead. In Arlington. This ought to go smoothly.

2-1 final.

That went a whole lot smoother than I thought it was going to.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And we are NOT off to a good start tonight. Either Sanchez will settle down, or we're going to get bombed clear to Tijuana.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I have no idea why on earth I'm still watching this.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Prince is in one hell of a slump. He looked bad there.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And with Prince slumping, I wouldn't..........
