Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Alex Avila: .174 AVG, .256 OBP, .304 SLG

Victor Martinez: .209 AVG, .269 OBP, .297 SLG

We've got a couple problems in the lineup.

5-1 final.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Uh-oh is common. Good thing we got the insurance, insurance runs. I half expected a bomb to make it close and have Benoit finish.

Max was dynamite. Now if we can get our ace to replicate that it would be nice.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Cleveland is NOT happy with the strike zone early on.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

That bounced funny, at the edge of the grass/dirt. Otherwise Infante makes that play. That cost us a run.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Apparently we called Avisail Garcia up just to eat lunch. Don Kelly and his .189 average continues to play ahead of him.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Aaaaand thunder in the area. We'll see how long the dish will hold out.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Verlander headed for another short start. 55 pitches with 2 outs in the 2nd. We might need 8 to win this one.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Tarp.

9-5, bottom 5. Game not official yet.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Game on again. We've moved to the 6th, and it's 9-6 Tigers.

We still might not have enough runs.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

That was an awful throw from Dirks. Brutal.

9-7 now. It was 9-2 before the Tribe hit in the 5th.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

It's 3 starts in a row that he hasn't. I don't know what to think.

Tarp on the field again.

EDIT: Tom Brokaw sounds like **** on Boys In The Hall.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

As an admittedly casual baseball guy, I don't do this often, but let me help you Hammer:

11-7 final.

Man has this pitching staff underwhelmed this year, even more-so than I expected.

Maybe he's eating all the Hot-N-Readys instead of spending them?
