Now it's a matter of who goes ka-bong for the Rangers off of Perry, Schlereth or Coke.

Well, that means Feliz in the bottom half.

Goddammit.

There's game. Maybe Cruz will twist the knife again now.

Edit: There it is.

3 runs in 10 innings. This home-run derby bull**** doesn't work in the postseason.

Or Valverde.

Enjoy Verlander pitching tomorrow night. It's just about all we've got to look forward to. Some ****-poor managing once extras rolled around.

Must be nice to have competent base runners.

Well, you don't go sending Jackson to 2nd with Cabrera at the plate. Instead, he gets gunned down and Jiggledick Raburn takes care of the rest of the inning. Then we intentionally walk a cripple instead of letting him hit himself into an out. Two batters later, boom.

Jimmy was ****ting Tiffany cuff-links until the 10th inning tonight.

Unless he was supposed to give Avila directions to the ballpark, you can't blame the managing. You can manage all you want, but it's tough to do much when you only get a hit every two innings.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

I'm not talking about Avila. Jackson getting thrown out for the 2nd out in the inning with Cabrera on the on-deck circle, in extra innings, is lunacy. Now, granted, we've got Raburn in the middle of those two to **** things up regardless, but now Cabrera leads off when we're down 4 runs.

Then we go and intentionally walk Beltre, who apparently had his knees fall off of his legs last night. That should have been a easier out to get.

Jimmy has done a nice job managing the first series plus 3 games and 9 innings here, but some serious head-scratchers in extras.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

**** that. 5 ****ing hits in 11 innings means Leyland is at worst the 10th biggest problem tonight.

Avila is hurt, as is Martinez and Young. That is part of the reason I wanted Jimmy to start sitting Avila after it was apparent we had this thing wrapped. He took one helluva beating this year, and he caught about 20-21 games in a row, when that really was unnecessary. Stomping on Cano's foot at 1B in New York didn't help matters any, either.

I don't fault the strategy in the first three games of this series. I did not have a problem with Perry pitching Game 2, and giving up the bomb that landed somewhere north of Tulsa. I think switching around the rotation so that Scherzer went Game 2 and Porcello went Game 4 was brilliant. We had our chances, we just didn't convert in the first two games. I didn't have a problem with Valverde working a 2nd inning, at home. But I think we flat-out threw away our shot in the 10th inning tonight, and I really didn't like handing Beltre 1st base in the 11th.

Add it all up and while it might not have cost us this series in and of itself, it likely help seal our fate.
