Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

And Victor is hurt. Helluva price to pay for that bomb.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

They're talking oblique, but that might be the groin barking at him again, too.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Christ, we're going to have to pull Clete Thomas out of our collective asses or something at this rate.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

That might be the hardest hit ball Texas has put in play.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Betemit is the other option if Martinez can't swing. I'll take Martinez even if he can't lift the bat above his shoulders.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Are they really going to walk a guy who hasn't actually swung the bat yet?

Edit: Yep. Not bad, Leyland.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Bases loaded.........two out..........you know the rest of the story, although the force out at 3rd was mildly entertaining.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Folks, that is why we pay attention when you're sitting right behind the dugout, and why you don't sit there when you take your kids.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Hasn't Hamilton killed enough this year?

....too soon?

Oh, man...

Oh, well. It's no worse than the ***holes in the bleachers in New York chanting "DUI!! DUI!!" at Cabrera in Games 1 and 2.

PERALTA!

3-1, bottom 6.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Austin Jackson making a debut appearance in the ALCS and his single makes it 4-1.

In their defense, DU and I are like, half the known alphabet for Yankee fans. :D

7 in the books for Fister, and the pitch count is probably north of 120. That's more than enough from him. Now it's time for Benoit in the 8th, and Valverde to scare the hell out of us in the 9th.

CABBY!

At least 20 rows deep in left.

5-1, bottom 7.

And actually, Dougie is south of 100, so with a four-run lead, might as well keep him in there and maintain the 'pen.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Someone at FOX doesn't know how to count pitches. In the 6th they said Fister was at 108 pitches. According to MLB.com he's thrown 93 through 7. I've got no reservations letting him go out for the 8th after seeing that.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Yeah. Fister's only at 93. Texas swings at everything.
