Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

That's a fair assessment. I'm going to get something to eat before I wreck something.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

On the up side, the Tigers weren't the ones who traded half the farm system for their lousy pitcher.

And now Valverde drills a guy in the back. I don't know how many more times Valverde can keep playing with fire like this and not get burnt.

Hah. AJ with the fire extinguisher.

Great win!

Hilarious stats showing the mediocrity of the Central:

The Tigers managed to raise their run differential into positive numbers today, now at +1. The rest of the Central is in negatives. Looking at the AL East, four of the five have positive numbers, the lowest being Toronto's +22.

In fact, if the Rays and Jays were in the Central, TB would be leading the division by 1.5 and TOR would be 4 games back. As it stand they are 8 and 13.5 back in the East.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Yes, but I also think the Tigers are either at .500 or have winning records against both the Red Sox and the Yankees this season. I think...

You can hear the wind howling outside the dome in Tampa. Either that or we need to call Scooby Doo, 'cause the place is haunted.

They've got a pretty nasty T-storm going on right now that knocked the power out about ten minutes before first pitch.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

I don't think I've ever heard the wind like that outside of a dome over TV before. And it's still howling.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Did Joyce just homer, or did the Lightning just score?

AVILA!!!

2-1 Tigers, top 2

Had this game been outside, that might have come down somewhere around the pitcher's mound.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

For the love of God, will someone go get us a backup catcher while Martinez is hurt? We're asking to get bit in the 'cheeks.

And Volume 1 is done.
