Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Verlander loads the bases in the 5th with 0 out........and strands all three of them.

I'm speechless.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Jimmy got run in between innings. And from the looks of it, Joe West is to blame here. His actions and mannerisms appear to be completely unprofessional. Alomar should have spit in his face instead.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

And there goes Leyland. It says something about the umpiring when people from both sides are getting tossed.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

If it wasn't for the umps union West would be digging ditches somewhere in Arkansas and Hernandez would probably be laying dead in one of those ditches. He's got the personality and the intelligence of a tree stump. Both should be fired and severely beaten.

Uh-oh. We drew the Angel Hernandez-Joe West crew this series.

Once you posted this, I decided there were better things on to watch, or bed, during this series. Glad to see I'm not missing anything intelligent or professional.

Well, when Porcello gets ejected on a night where he's not pitching, that should tell you something.

CABRERA!!!

5-3 Tigers, top 7.

RABURN!!!

2-0, top 2.

Where the hell has this been for three months? Tony Clark and Carlos Pena used to do this ****, too.

KELLY!!!

3-1, top 9

Okay. We've got bombs from Kelly and Raburn tonight, it's our only run production, and we've still got a 2-run lead in the 9th. If we blow this, that's going to tell us an awful lot about how we're going to go the rest of the way.

3-1 final.

Wells nearly smokes Raburn as Raburn is attempting to catch the final out, and Raburn glares at him. Rightfully so.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Looks like Ricky is headed for his usual 4-inning outing. 27 pitches. 1 out.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Well, if Raburn doesn't **** things up, Inge is sure to do so.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Valverde's not the sharpest, but the ump behind the plate is making orange juice. We're going to be lucky to get out of this one.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Well. That was fun to watch for about 12 minutes. Tigers get back to within 4-2. Then a stolen base, an error, a couple hits, then a bomb from Gordon and it's 9-2. That looked like a Phil Coke knockout inning.

And then I look up and the get 3 runs in with 2 outs in the inning. ???

Back to 9-6, but we left the bases juiced to end the 4th.
