This one looked a lot like Same Old Lions. Poor running game, ****ty line, yep, that's our team.

Those would have been some nice tackles if Air had been the ballcarrier.

Not sure what to make of the future. Were we "overrated" when we were undefeated? I think so- we really struggled to win a few of those games.

But are we totally out of it? Not sure- but I think how we react to this game will mean more than the last one. Can Shwartz focus the team so that the running D is where it was in the first games, or will we regress and bounce our tackles to allow 10-20 more yards after getting the first hit? Will the O find a way to get some blocking so that both the running and passing game are better?

Or did SanFransisco expose how to beat us?

I think the biggest think San Francisco did was take Best away from our running game. With our line, which I think is mediocre at best, we need everything we can get out of our running backs. Maurice Morris and Co. aren't going to cut it much longer, and there really isn't anything out there right now that is an upgrade.

The red zone offense is killing them. Two straight weeks the defense sets up the offense with the ball inside the other team's 25 early in the game. Two field goals. Those have to be touchdowns.

And this team was a 7-9 win team before the season started. The early start maybe makes them a 9-10 win team now. They're still 2 years removed from 0-16 and still have to fill some more holes to be elite.

This echos my thoughts as I watched, although the running game exceeded my expectations.
Penalties that killed positive plays, poor accuracy in the passing game, no big defensive plays on 3rd down, and countless 3 and outs brought back the bad memories.
Perhaps the success we enjoyed the first few weeks was more about explosive plays and imploding opponents, rather than a sharp and balanced football team.

Wow. There was no one within 15 yards of Titus Young. I heard the name Andre Goodman, so that explains a bit of it.

Okay. Get Stafford out. If you weren't sure if he was starting until 2 hours before game time, you don't need him in up 38-3.

Agreed. Stafford...if he can stay healthy is a great QB...the Lions success is determined on him staying healthy.

He shouldn't have been in the game for that series in the first place.
