Let's face it, guys. If the Lions played any semblance of defense, they win. No pass rush to speak of and the secondary looked like a Rich Rod coached unit. They blew an early 9 point lead where the Packers appeared to be more interested in their party plans, then playing.
Yes, the officials were horrible. A blown TD call that was the point difference in the game with no ability to challenge. A questionable fumble ruling where it appeared that the player was done by contact prior to losing the ball. Another play that goes against the Lions where a muffed punt is prematurely blown dead. A catch that is ruled incomplete, then reversed by having to take a timeout and a challenge. All blatant acts of either incompetency or handcuffed by poor NFL rules. Seems like the Lions have had their share of these, especially on the road. But go back to point one, highlighted by Suh doing a classless dance after his only play of the day.
They got Flynned. But what else is new in the past fifty years?

Not thrilled with how Cunningham calls games. The D-line lines up pretty wide (the ends are outside the TE's) and they drop 7 pretty much every time. No blitzes, no stunts because they're all separated by 3 yards and frankly, they were overrated this year. They need a shutdown corner to allow the other secondary guys to help each other more and so they can blitz occasionally.
Whether they were schemed against better as the season went on or what, the pressure was pretty sad after the 1st Chicago game. Denver and San Diego are the only ones I can think of where they consistently brought it.

My heart says the Lions have enough offensive talent to a pull an upset. My mind says, Drew Brees doesn't lose in the dome.
Mind wins. Good season, Lions... now shore up some more of the holes and take the next step next season.
Green Bay, New Orleans and San Francisco are all going to be fun to watch.

I suspect that the Lions are going to get smoked. 21 points or so. This has 38-17 written all over it. The defense isn't going to be as porous as it was last week, but Stafford isn't going to go ham and throw for 520 again, either.

Actually didn't want to play you guys next week after what you did to our defense last week.
Get a defensive backfield and a healthy runningback and you guys are gonna contend big time.
