Detroit Lions 2010: Let's do our Best to keep our Johnson in our Schwartz, okay?

Re: Detroit Lions 2010: Let's do our Best to keep our Johnson in our Schwartz, okay?

I'm glad I didn't watch. My hangover it painful enough in and of itself, and it sounds like this week's shyetshow wouldn't have helped that at all. :(

Only if you thought puking would help get the hangover out of your system faster.

unbelievable. even from the hapless Lions.

Re: Detroit Lions 2010: Let's do our Best to keep our Johnson in our Schwartz, okay?

No. Two weeks ago was unbelievable. Maybe even last week, too. But this one was completely predictable.

The bad news is that the Pats are 8-2.
The good news for you Lions fans is that our paper mache defense will give you every chance to win the game.

Re: Detroit Lions 2010: Let's do our Best to keep our Johnson in our Schwartz, okay?

So Burleson breaks off a big catch-and-run and Steven Peter-less takes a block-in-the-back penalty, killing the whole thing.

3 people I would like to see cut in the offseason, if not sooner:

1) Raiola
2) Peterman
3) Backus

And if you want to take Cherilus out back and stomp on his head, too, I won't argue one bit.

Which pretty much tends to the theory as to why Stafford is oft-injured...?
I love how the haters point at him and claim he is a glass doll when the offensive line is so poor.
I say draft another tight end, though.

As I see it, the D-line is ok- they put some good pressure on many times, but still have issues in letting up a long run often. Leave them alone.
QB- getting slaugtered by the other line, but both main and back up are credible. If they had more time at key point...- leave them alone.
catchers and runners- good enough- leave them alone, too.

Basically, we have two things that need a lot of work- the offensive line, and the defensive backs.

So, If I were king for the day, and we end up with a high draft pick, and IF the draft is top heavy with QB's, d-line, or backs and recievers- trade down the best you can so that you can take extra pics for the d-backs and the offensive line. And trade at will to get some protection for Stafford. Keep our D off the field, and you hide a lot of suckiness- even when they are on, then- the line can really go off.

I'm no expert, but if we waste our high pick on a QB, Back, or reciever, I will puke. Well, unless they are traded for some linemen. A good offensive line will make the entire offense look better right now- more often good runs, better passes with time, etc.

But, that's just me.

Special teamer that can guard the edge. They've figured out that their players are getting hurt, so they'll draft some guys that can protect Hanson.

Don't forget that we're short on LB's too.

Let's see. OL, LB, CB, and a S. Looks like 5 years to me. And by then Calvin Johnson will have had more than enough, and Stafford and Best might either be dead or concussed. Lovely.

On ESPN, just a minute ago, none other than Matt Millen, when speaking about the firing of Brad Childress:

"He allowed it to happen. You get what you tolerate."

Really, Matt?!?!? You don't say..............

Well, Childress was the one putting up with Farve's sillyness about not being in training camp and all. Might have been forced down his throat by the owner, but he was still in the middle of it all.

Fine, but I don't need Matt Millen, of all people, telling me about how another franchise ****ed up.

That's funny, but true. I was wondering how long it would take Schwartz to get sucked into the vortex, too. Funny how this job/franchise can lower your IQ.
Oh- and Millen's comments- what a freaking jackwagon.

that's kind of why I would suggest building the O line first- you are better able to keep your top players. Maybe we win 5-6 games with and improved offense and just the line- who knows. But if they can turn it around on that side of the ball- it takes a lot of pressure off the D backs. All of them.

The dream- the line is good enough that we have running backs capable of 10-15 yards if the D backs are so concerned about passing. Back and forth- with the O winning. Wow, that sounds so unlike a lions fan. But I really hate the empty backfield in key situations. It's SO obvious.

(what's really frustrating about the lion O is that the co-ordinator is a fellow Vandal. Saw him at every home game and a couple away games in '85 and '86.)
