Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

I was just looking at the FCS schedule and the Gophers have 4 more delayed games on there. 10/30 at UAA,...

Delayed a game at UAA!

Due to time zone differences a night games in Alaska would normally be shown at sometime around midnight.

Maybe you should complain to FCS and tell them you want to see the game before it is actually played. :D

Minnesota is at home for the delayed Anchorage game. Gopher games in Alaska traditionally are not televised.

Sorry! :o

At least fans in Alaska will be able to see the game at a normal time. And Gopher fans attending the game can see it twice.:p

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Any chance these two games can be 0-0 ties and since nobody was able to score they both get 0-2 records!!!!!:D

I'm a little out of the loop...are the PC Police winning the battle to steal and retire the noble nickname Fighting Sioux?? Also, if they do, any truth to the rumor that Ralph (or Englestadt family) have the right to take the wrecking ball to the Ralph if it happens? It would be a travestry if that great name and logo are lost to this moronic trend of phony PC-ness.

What does any of that have to do with the Denver-Minnesota series this weekend? Honestly, go to a different thread, no one cares here.

Will be watching the game on FSRM on the dish as someone marooned in Upper MI in marginal end of CCHA Country (Ferris Buehlers, Sault Sault'ers are closest) who had season tix in the DU Barn for 20 years. But saw the ND poster's comments on our series here and wanted to ask, since I'm out of the regular WCHA loop except for satellite TV and a rare trip to Denver. Am a solid WCHA fan and interested in all league programs except Badgers, whom I could never like after watching Sauer coach dirty hockey (hits to the head as standard MO and seeing in front of my nose the Sean Hill hit on Mike Aikens many years ago). Will be rooting for the Pies while hoping that Woog gives a few broadcast moments that heighten the entertainment value. Yes, I can survive a night without Charlie Host on my TV!

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

This weekend probably won't be much of a contest. Denver is expected to win the conference and the Gophers looked like crap last week.

I'd expect a fairly easy time for Denver. Maybe in the 5-2, 3-1 scoring range.

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Oh, really? Then explain Schroeder not even getting a shot off until the second game at about the midway point.

That surprised me.
I really expected Schroeder to be dominant this year. Of course, there is still plenty of time for that to happen, but you didn't hear his name mentioned too much last weekend.

If at all.

I was shocked as well. Thus my reaction to Friday nights game which was a complete disaster as far as I was concerned. I was hoping all summer that I wouldn't have to see a game like that at all this year.

Hope springs eternal though. It's a new weekend. But with the tape delay on Sat. night I really am hoping tonight is a good night for the Gophers.

I hate to do this...but the Sioux might have had something to say about that.

Jordan will lead either way...the question is whether he will dominate or not. Last weekend was not a good start.

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Less than 2 hours until puckdrop. Then the Gopher supremacy begins!:)

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Will this be another manic-depressive night for Brent?
Lets hope so.

I'm just wondering which Canadian born Pioneer will stick a fork in the Gophers tonight. I'll go with Kyle Ostow.

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Frank Mazzocco on Mike Hoeffel "He's got that ice water in the veins that you like to have in a goaltender. Not much flappable about Mike Hoeffel."

So sad.

Gold Zone will have live audio. $9.95 for month. Clear and clean as a whistle (no static, tested it for tonights game preview). And I got to watch the 74-75 Gopher Hockey highlight reel. Very cool.
