Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

That was a completely different situation, and it is quite classless to bring up an injury that could have ended a young mans' career. In that situation Genoway was facing the boards with his head down and the player skated all the way down the ice, this was completely different in every way shape and form. The player wasn't facing the boards and the player didn't skate all the way down the ice. I can understand the frustration on the injury, but uncalled for.

Doctor, have you examined Martin? You have some information about this injury the rest of us don't have?. I take it as a badge of honor that you think I'm classless. My only point was, why don't you save the legalisms and justifications for later. I understand you all can't help yourselves. We've got a kid hurt here, maybe as seriously or worse, than Genoway. And I'm classless because I think you guys ought to stop justifiying the hit and perhaps focus on the boy's injury?

I just want to know what happened. I'll make judgements based on what happened later. As I said, you never want to see a player get hurt, clean hit or not.

If you go to youtube and look at the hit that TJ Oshie laid on Dustin Brown, it's basically that. It's really the best way I can describe it without actually putting up a video of it.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Saw several replays, pretty clear where Malone came from.

I'm not sure where you see elbow. I just looked at the replay many times and Malone does nothing with the arms when he comes in with the hit. Both arms remain still. As he's approaching Jesse puts his head down even further unfortantly. I just hope the guy is okay but there was no flying elbow as you stated in an earlier post. You can argue charge as was called but throwing an elbow is not accurate.

For those of us keeping score:
Maiani need 6 points for the Century Club.

DU 1 UND 0 end 2nd period

I just hope Jesse will be ok.

Hopefully Bacher will have some news on his live blog in the 3rd period. He stopped blooging right after Jesse got hurt. I assume he went down to assist in getting Jesse to the hopsital and notify his parents.

Like I said I wish him the best of luck on a full recovery as no one wants to see someone hurt. We can just agree to disagree as most charging calls are pure judgement calls and they can go either way. Denver has some of the classiest fans in the League and I don't want this thread turned into another Gophers thread.

I seem to remember that Jesse Martin had a pretty severe concussion his last year of juniors and missed 20-some games. I really hope he'll be OK...

Elbow-shoulder
What difference does it make?
Bottom line Martin is injured and Malone is out.

Sorry all, no TV and radio... Is the penalty over?

It looked to me like he turned to hit him and lifted his right arm up including his elbow which hit Jesse. It doesn't matter either way as it was a 5 minute for intent to injure which it clearly looked like he was doing. I don't think Malone is a dirty player and in fact DU recruited him.

Agreed. I'm reacting emotionally because I'm scared s**tless about how this is going to turn out. Maybe they responded out of an abundence of caution. Under these circumstances it just strikes me as unbalanced to focus on whether it was a good or bad hit and whether or not it should have been a major, blah, blah, blah. My only point about Genoway was to try to recall when you saw him down on the ice, that's what we're feeling. Okay?

Don't worry about this old Pio becoming like the Golden Garden Pests.

Live chat on Brads Blog is saying Martin is ok, he got knocked the F out and was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. But they are reporting he is ok.
