Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Jesse Martin is down in the corner on a hit to the head he never saw.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Malone with the hit. Stretcher being brought out, Martin has not moved.

They are stabilizing him and putting him on backboard to go to the hospital

I said the I hope the young man is okay.

I can read, coach. What we didn't need was your "firm grasp of the obvious" advice, okay? The kid may be seriously hurt, and you're offering tips. Save it for later.

was it a hit to the head? Or did he hit his head on the ice/boards

The skater was looking straight down at the puck and he got hit very hard with a hit that was led with the shoulder. IMHO it was a penalty because of the injury, that being said I can completely understand why it would be called a charging, just don't agree with how severe they called the penalty. Best of luck to Jesse to a quick on speedy recovery.

Malone is gone for the game, intent to injure with the elbow to the head. Nice gesture by UND fans to clap for Jesse as he was wheeled off the ice. 5 minute major plus game for Malone.
