I was never a huge Prine aficionado, but I always got a kick out of an intro I heard him give for his song, Jesus, the missing years. To paraphrase, it went something like this:

"Nobody new where Jesus was from about age 12 to age 30. One of the most significant and controversial figures in human history, and nobody knew where he was for eighteen years. Nobody. He!!, I once went to Nashville for three days with this cocktail waitress and by the time we got back, everyone knew where we'd been."

That's gold.
