He was an insufferable dick. I could not stand to listen to his pieces. They were so precious they hurt my teeth.

Is that true? That's kind of funny if it is. I didn't read anything about his death, but just saw it come across CNN.

On the same Weekend Update segments where Chevy Chase used to do "Generalissimo Francisco Franco is fighting to remain dead," another running bit was "Last night the tiny island nation of Togoland was wracked by {some ungodly natural disaster}, basically their version of this.
