I agree with Fade. His lyrics on many of his songs show that his mind went to very dark places.

From "Exploder:"

There was a man who had a face, that looked a lot like me.
I saw him in the mirror and, I fought him in the street;
Then when he turned away, I shot him in the head.
Then I came to realize, I had killed myself.

I had a friend commit suicide via pills 3 years ago. Every day since then, I keep asking "what could I have done? What did I miss? How could I have prevented this?" But as I've come to realize... she hid her pain very well.

Dr. Mrs.' best childhood friend essentially killed herself a few years ago (it was an "intentional unintentional walk"). DM has been asking herself that ever since.

There is nothing. Don't compound the tragedy. Often when people get into lifeboats when a ship sinks they are still dragged under by the suction. Do not let this happen to you -- paddle away to safety, then grieve.

If a person really wants to successfully suicide they may not give any warning at all. I had someone look me straight in the eye, tell me they were doing wonderfully, contract for safety, go home and within an hour come within minutes of being successful at suicide. Only an unplanned for stop by the house from a family member to pick something up made it unsuccessful. It isn't always about whether you were willing or able to help. It may also be whether they are willing to take the help. Sometimes they aren't

This is a great analogy and very wise advice.

And the only Simon Templar (for those of us of an older generation) :(

The real voice of the Saint, Tom Conway, has been dead for 50 years. His brother, George Sanders, the real film version, has been dead for 45.

Vincent Price also had a nice turn in the role.
