D3 Women?

This was my thought as well. Plus, they keep downgrading the "storm" here in Plattsburgh. I believe the show will go on in the Lake City today.

We're still getting the teeth of the storm here in mid-west coast Vermont. Though I'm not seeing any notes to the effect of a delay I'm not on most of the social media platforms that would be the first to announce it. I suspect this game is to be continued as well, though we'll have to watch from home.

Nazareth and Elmira are scoreless after one. Nazareth initially controlled possession. Then, Elmira had solid grade A chances including hitting the post. Elmira leads in shots, 11-6.

Midd is up on Endicott 1-0 after 1. Kylie Quinlan scored for the Panthers.

Plattsburgh is leading 1-0 on Colby as well. Plattsburgh scored on a great lob through the neutral zone to a forward at the corner outside their attacking blue line resulting in a numbers advantage on attack. The Cardinals have a different looking lineup than anything we've seen this season and most of the defenders who are getting ice time look to be in good form, getting great blocks and breaking up plays.

Colby looked better to start and looked more disorganized as the period went on.

Elmira takes a 1-0 lead over Nazareth at 5:08 of the second in. Erika Goleniak converted a cross ice pass from Holly Riva.

Elmira is now on the power play.

Elmira leads Nazareth, 1-0, after two. Elmira leads shots, 20-15. Nazareth’s three best chances to score came while short handed. Both teams are 0 for 2 on the PP. A very good crowd supporting Nazareth.

Plattsburgh 2 - Colby 1 after 2. Colby got away with a hit on Boric that could have been a 5 min major but instead no-call. It took most of the period before Boric was back out on the ice. Plattsburgh scored on a Wasik shot from the point put in by Krauseneck. Colby scored on a power play with Meg Rittenhouse one-timing in a feed from Anna Staton. Plattsburgh controlled play most of the 2nd but they are very vulnerable in the net so it's still anyone's game.

Middlebury 3 - Endicott 0. Eva Hendrikson made it 2-0 early in the period on assists from Ellie Barney and Cece Ziegler. Kylie Quinlan gets her second goal on a power play with a little under 5 mins left in the period. Assists from Sabrina Kim and Claudia Vira.

Gustavus leads River Falls with ~ 3 mins left in the first. Maddie McCollins put River Falls up earlie but goals from Jordyn Peterson and Madigan Golsworthy give the Gusties the lead.

Cardinal and Mule get attached at the helmet in the neutral zone and play had to be whistled dead to be freed from each other. Not one I've seen before at the Ronny B

With 2:17 to go Elmira’s Holly Riva scores outracing the defense to negate an icing and then skating around the net for the close range shot for the 2-1 lead.

Elmira defeats Nazareth 2-1. Shots were 27-27. Nazareth lost twice this year - both to Elmira; both by 2-1 scores. Elmira heads to the semifinals.

Finals: Middlebury 4 - Endicott 1 and Elmira 2 - Nazareth 1.

Plattsburgh and Colby going to OT.

Abigail Stow scores to make it 3-2 River falls midway through the game. GAC answers on the power play with a goal from Clara Billings to make it 3-3.

Semifinal 1 will be Middlebury vs Elmira.

The winners of the two games still going face off in the second semi.

Host will likely be Middlebury.

Hey Russell… are you following the purple caravan to Geneva?

Helluva game that was at Bill Gray’s. Nazareth is certainly FOR REAL!!! (a throwback for you old timers out there.) They just got too gassed in the third, but held-tight with Elmira for most of the game. Wish I could have made the trip-up there (although to be honest, my next stop would have been down Brighton-Henrietta Town Line road to RIT!).

Congrats to Naz on a great season.

Cheers!!!

Katonka gets around a defender as the third line wings who she skated a shift with went to change. She was able to dangle to goalie at her right post and get around her to tuck it in to send the Cardinals to their 9th straight semifinal appearance.

Plattsburgh will play the winner of River Falls and Gustavus Adolphus in what will be a hard-fought game.

Semifinals:

Middlebury vs Elmira
Plattsburgh vs RF/GAC

GAC upsets 2 seed River Falls 5-3. The Gusties spent most of the end of the 3rd on the power play.

Semifinals are locked as

1 Middlebury vs 5 Elmira
3 Plattsburgh vs 7 GAC
