D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

There is no set host right now.

In 2013 however they are going to a one-year trial basis predetermined site.

I know this is now staying off topic, but...THIS IS A HUGE MISTAKE!!!
I have spoken with many other DIII followers, the ones who care and actually GO to the games, and the feeling is that the DIII women deserve their moment in the spotlight. No matter how the NC$$ packages this (and think about who is really deriving a benefit by doing the event this way), once DIII women are combined with either the DI "big girls" or the DIII men they will be the sideshow. Tell me the DIII men's game will not be the one played in the prime, evening time slot? These DIII participants come the closest to the "scholar-athletes" the NC$$ mission statement mentions, they work hard and sacrifice a lot to play the sports they love and any attempt to combine their finale with someone else's sucks!!!

I actually disagree. IMHO it would be a good thing to have both D1 and D3 at the same venue. Gives fans more of an opportunity to watch both, and would lead to more bums in the team for both events. Having it at a place like Lake Placid, with lots of other things to do would be great.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

this is fact. it's fun to see how GAC's shot count differs from home to away. i've seen too many shots go some 2+ feet wide of the net and watch the shot count go up while opposing teams need to be within only a couple inches of the pipe

Sounds like a bitter egg nog taste in your mouth. Teach your team to find the back of the net and the "shots" will not matter:)

haha, honestly i couldn't be happier with my team's performance as of right now. and this isn't just my team that i'm speaking of. i've watched many games online and know many girls that have/do play on teams other than RF. what i said is a common feeling among the MIAC and NCHA

@ Bethel shots 33-25
Bethel @ home shots 40-16

@ Augsburg shots 50-6
Augsburg @ home shots 64-8(Auggies scored on those 2 extra)

I'd say on average there is an 8-10 shot increase from away to home by the Gusties just by scanning box scores from this year and last year. I don't really see it as an inflation of home shots on goal. Like I've said too many times to count, they don't take quality shots, just throw it at the net any chance they get. A strategy that works fairly well in the west(esp in the MIAC), but fails miserably out east....hence their 2-8 record in the big dance.
