D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

"Coach Houle had nothing to do with this loss. While it was an exciting game to watch with two of the top 5 teams, it was fairly even throughout the whole game, and only a mistake by Plattsburgh goalie letting in a weak shot (must have taken her eye off the puck) was the difference. Two great teams that I believe we will see in the NCAA's."

While he may not have been out coached this game I believe he has been in games in the last few years against big teams beginning with the stomping that Amherst put on the Cards in the quarterfinals a couple years ago.

I bring this up in the Midd game because it seemed that he just kinda threw people out onto the ice. In the last seconds of the game the Cards get a faceoff in their zone playiong 6 on 4 and they have their two leaders in points on the bench, one of which is a team leader in the faceoff department as well.

Those team leaders were on the bench because they had just come off the ice, and Houle had already used his only timeout. Perhaps one could question using the TO so early, but at the point you are referring to, it was already gone. Besides, Plattsburgh had been winning 75% of the faceoffs this game anyway.

Why can't Plattsburgh lose a game without someone taking a potshot at their coach? Klassen and Meade had great chances and Bloom stopped them. Those shots go in, Platty wins 2-1, and Houle is a genius, but because she made the saves, Houle is a goat? It makes no sense.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Yeah they should have been on the bench....they aren't that conditioned, the thirty second shift prior really killed them. Meade a chance yes, earlier on a lucky deep pass (that goes in and its just a great/lucky play not genius) but other than that I don't recall alot of great chances maybe a few dumps on net. However Moon and Giroux did have quite a few great chances on two man rushes and then a set with Giroux in front that she couldnt connect on.

Maybe it's the loss that brings out the criticism but it's not a new idea sure Platty played great series with RIT minus one period and a decent game against Midd in the classic, but I don't think you can say they have played outstanding in other games. If you were there the first game against Norwich wasn't pretty at all, they just got bounces and Mackrell stood on her head....

I'd say as I've talked about with some others that he just isn't coaching the way that needs to be done now. In the National Championship run how hard was it to say hey Blanchard lets make something happen. Women's hockey has come a long way since then the talent is more spread out.

Boy, does this start to sound personal.....former player? someone trying to be recruited to Plattsburgh? Care to identify yourself, or can you only take shots at someone anonymously? You are sounding extremely bitter...

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

I was checking out the score of the RIT/Oswego game on twitter and almost had a heart attack. Should probably read the whole thing first.

"#RIT women's hockey goes down 1-0 to Oswego just 29 seconds in, but ties the game on a power-play goal by Kourtney Kunichika."

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Kolbree McCrea gives RIT a 2-1 lead over Oswego with a power-play goal with nine minutes left in regulation.

Goal from Dagg with about 4 mins left. 3-1 RIT

Final
