Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Yes.

Their improvement from the East/West Hockey classic to the following weekend when they came back to play Norwich for the regular season game was ten-fold. It was like a completely different team was playing.

I believe the Pilgrims are still skating without a full roster as well which makes it even more impressive.

White is a big reason for the success and they have a quality win over Manhattanville. However, the rest of the six wins aren't exactly against stellar competition.

They could be a dangerous team come ECAC East tourney time again though.

Yeah, likewise ... only losses are to Elmira, RIT and Norwich, and a road win over Manhattanville.

They seem to spread the scoring around, which I guess is a good thing, but with three players in double digits for penalties after 11 games, I wonder how disciplined the team is.

Lots of NESCAC on the NC schedule ... will be interesting to see how they finish.

Feisty bunch those Pilgrim's... and they have learned how to score 3 or more goals.

Yeah, well they will have to figure out a way to do better than 1-1 against the likes of Weslyan if they intend to challenge in the ECAC East.

I noticed that freshman Kelly Metz went the distance in a rare start for the Pilgrims today.

Wesleyan scored to tie it at the 18:56 of the third. Ouch!

It appears that's the first time they have only scored one goal in a game all year after giving Norwich and Elmira back to back shutouts at the beginning of the year.

I tend to agree however they might be a dark horse again this year come tourney time.

I hate to think how this reflects on the Polar Bears going into a couple of big NESCAC games on the road at Hamilton and Conn, after their less than stellar effort against NEC at home a week ago!
I will say that Corvi is a pretty fair goalie for the Cardinals. How do you serve the red, white and blue Pilgrim kool-aide?

I drink the Pilgrim Kool-aide cause:

1) I like their name
2) I think their well coached

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Middlebury 1 - Amherst 0 on a scrum in front of the Amherst goal as Amherst failed to clear.

Middle of the 3rd.

>> 12:38 remaining.

2 -0 Middlebury.

After Amherst carried play for much of the first 2 1/4 periods, Midd. has turned it on, pinning Amherst in their own zone.

Twice now, Amherst has been beaten back into their own zone for a wave-off of an icing call ...
