D3 Game Updates Continued

Re: D3 Game Updates Continued

Norwich Chiara Traversa (60:00 W) ----- 3 - 6 - 1 10 (0 GA)
Castleton Katharyn Dembowski (60:00 L) 25 17 18 60 (2 GA)

Just came across this from the Rutland Herald...

For Dembowski, it was her second straight outstanding performance. On Saturday, she made 52 saves while allowing five goals to Manhattanville. The 112 saves while surrendering seven goals gives her a .941 save percentage for the two games.

Re: D3 Game Updates Continued

Not sure that Manhattanville will be able to put up 60 odd shots against Plattsburgh coming up, and Mackrell has about a .945 percentage, doesn't she?

I'll be betting on the Cardinals for two

They may not put up 60 shots but I wouldn't sleep on the Valiants. They have played Elmira extremely tough three times, and beat Norwich two out of three this season (whomping them 7-0 and 7-2 in the wins).

I'm thinking a split this weekend in Plattsburgh.

Manhattanville will certainly need all their legs and big roster size this weekend with three games in three days against St A's and then Plattsburgh twice.

I have seen the Norwich women play about 3 or 4 different games this year and it is the same thing during most of the ones that I see. They take a ton of shots but the quality of the shots and where they take them from are just horrible. Not sure where the stats are for shots taken but I would bet that they are right up there nationally and if you take the number of goals that they score......I bet that there percentage has got to be near the lower end. They have a habit of making the opposing goalies have a great save percentage............I am a die hard NU fan but this team needs to learn how to shoot. They outshoot almost every team they play but they hit the center of that net with the best of em'.

"Middlebury's bus didn't leave for Plattsburgh until Alexi Bloom finished a biology lab."

...trying to blame it on bus legs are we?? lol jk :p

Well at least someone's trying to put the "student" back into "student/athlete". Now if the professors would only give "bus-leg" credit for a crappy paper written on the way back from a crappy loss to East Bumsquat

similar to Gustavus in that regard

Re: D3 Game Updates Continued

Their straight up calls were excellent, I agree. But what impressed me most was that they were calling Midd player names flawlessly in real time, and Midd does not have names on their jerseys. This shows me some serious pregame preparation.

I know that they do a decent job. But I would much rather watch and form my own opinions of the game then here what they think. So do you need some one to tell you what is going on in the game or have you just drank the PLatty Koolaid. I would like all games to be on video and could care less about audio

And it only took 27 shots in each of those games to get 7 goals against Norwich.

In their earlier game against Castleton, Norwich had 49 shots on goal and won 3-1. I was able to catch the video broadcast of Tuesdays Norwich/Castleton game and the broadcasters said it could easily have been an 8-0 score if not for some of the saves by the Castleton goalie and the play of the Castleton defense. They also pointed out a couple of difficult saves by the Norwich goalie which prevented the game from possibly ending in a tie.

Sounds like an RIT fan who's team's nearly non-existent Pool C options depend on teams like Middlebury losing games.

umm...no. But thanks for judging me.... I was just trying to be funny.

I would have much rather seen Plattsburgh destroy Middlebury...just for the simple fact that it would make our conference look better. I don't even think we have a remote chance of getting an at-large bid so I am hoping we win the conference tournament.

Who in their right mind schedules three straight games??? If conditioning proves to be a factor, I like PSU's chances of winning both games.
