Re: D3 Game Updates Continued

As expected, a great game at LFC tonight. LFC carried the play for the most part in the 1st 2 periods and their 1st two PP goals were off of rebounds. Their third goal was actually scored by UWRF when a defensman tried to launch an ICBM cross ice to the breaking weak-side winger. Looked like a set play, but it backfired. The puck hit an RF player about 10 feet in front of the net and bounced right past Campbell - she didn't have a chance - it was really moving off the deflection.

With RF down 3-0 and LFC buzzing, it did not look good for the Falcons. Some hard work in the corner and Sunderman got by a sliding defenseman to quickly slide a shot past Wintermute on the short side, giving RF life. LFC had a couple of good chances on another PP but could not convert. They continued to control, but were not getting the quality chances they were earlier.

LFC continued to control early in the third and RF continued to limit quality chances. Conrad closed the gap to 3-2 with some impressively hard work out of the corner. She struggled past 2 LFC defenders to lift a shot over the shoulder of Wintermute. A few minutes later Thompson scored to tie at 3-3, again as a result of some tough corner work by the Falcons.

LFC still had the edge in play, but RF was back-checking and blocking out the middle much better as the period went on. The Falcons started to generate a few chances as they began to pressure toward the end of the period with some good speed.

LFC had two quality chance early in the OT. Then RF took over. Cranston took a timeout with a minute left and went for broke by pulling the goalie. RF had two excellent chances, but could not convert.

Great game overall. A lot of speed and hard work in the corners. The Foresters had a good turnout of exuberant students. Should be another good one tomorrow. regret I will miss it.

St Kate and Concordia skate to 6-6 tie

St Kate was up 5-1 before Concordia came back...up 6-4 with 8 to go...gave up a goal with about 5 to go and then concordia got the EA goal to tie it up.

Crazy game

Re: D3 Game Updates Continued

Superior finds some scoring and defeats Marian 6-0 !

yeah but most of the goals scored were power play goals, and one bad catch by the goalie (caught then dropped) we will call them soft goals, The way the Marian coach has them play it is going to be pretty tough for Marian to score only the 2 wingers go into the offensive zone center stays back,I personally do not like his strategy and it does not work.

End of 1. Still 1-0

Moberg from Meade on a pseudo 2-on-1. Pass from right to left from meade to the open side to Moberg. Manhattanville is stingy in front of its own net otherwise. Shots coming from the outside.
