Penalty filled affair...4 for the Cardinals 2 for the Panthers


Pretty sparse attendance...as expected spoiled Eastern fans didn't travel!

Terrific pace, terrific goaltending, plenty of scoring opportunities, really good hockey.

We will leave the snippy comments to the westerners.

Fluke gets a breakaway and manages to beat Aveson...Middlebury 2 Plattsburgh 0. Middlebury back on power play...

Question on that...They called a hook...it looked like it happened after Fluke shot the puck....then the puck trickled into the goal. So does Middlebury get the power play because the hook happened after she shot the puck...as apparently the goal didn't negate the penalty?

The penalty was called just before she shot. They changed the rule recently where scoring on a delayed penalty doesn't wipe out the penalty like a power-play goal would.

Oh I didn't know they had changed that rule

It looked like plattsburgh started taking control late in the 2nd. They were on a PK for a long time it seemed

The only oddity I'm seeing from the Webcast is when I switch from full-screen mode to a small screen at the end of the period, that doesn't change the size of the video, just the window that displays it, and the controls such as "fullscreen" are gone, so I have to reload the page to get everything back. This seems to be an NCAA site issue, as I saw the same thing watching archived videos.

Middlebury sags back anytime Plattsburgh gets possession in the offensive zone five on five; I don't know if they can survive another 20 minutes playing it quite so passively. One difference so far is that Middlebury has moved the puck better on its rushes with an advantage, whereas the Cardinal that carries into the zone often ends up taking the shot.

Middlebury scores on a wierd play in front of the net to go up 3-1 around 2 to go....Platty runnin out of time now.
