Wow, who would've thought they would read that just a couple of years ago. Congrats to Chatham on the weekend.

Very true, but I think when the school finally hired a qualified and competent coach who then brought in qualified assistant coaches you knew it would only be a matter of time until they could at least be respectful and compete in the league.

8-29-4 over the last year and a half isn't blowing the doors off of anyone...but when you put it in the context of the location of the school in a non-hockey area, the lack of on campus facilities, and the fact that it is an all female undergraduate population and then compare it to the 1-101-1 record they had since 02-03 (with this coach also behind the bench for the 1 win in her first season) it is pretty impressive to say the least. More impressive are the statistical improvements that they have enjoyed the last 3 seasons which have been in pretty much a sharp trend upwards across the board in spite of having very limited depth.

If they are able to recruit some of that depth this year they could be dangerous heading into next year as they are solid in goal and have 3 or 4 kids who are very, very dangerous. If they are able to add another couple of dangerous kids then they could really surprise some people next year.

In any event it's fun to see them vault themselves back into contention for a playoff spot if they can do some damage next week at Potsdam.

Norwich 2
Plattsburgh 4

Power play goal for Melissa Rundlett in the second period. 11 seconds into the PP. Plattsburgh penalty kill a little shaky lately.

Shots on goal through 2 -- Plattsburgh (21) Norwich (12)

Nice win.....that should move them up in the Fan Poll......don't you agree nbound?? :D

Theoretically yes, they beat an above .500 team that is not allowed in the fan poll.... I'll have to think about it all week and then make a decision like everyone else as to include it or not. They did surprise me tonight. Con grats to them.
