Middlebury is out of your top 10 for losing three games to the top 3 teams in the country and one to No. 5 on a penalty shot in overtime?

Can you give me 1 reason why they should be.

The teams they have beat are 29-51-9. The only team they have beat with a winning record is UMB who everyone jumped all over Lake Forest for losing to such an inferior team.

They have not beaten anyone worth mentioning.

If you had a 7-4 team, not named Middlebury, with their only wins being against weslyan, hamilton, bowdoin, conn college, colby, buff state, and UMB would you really put them in your top 10?

point taken. I won't sit here and say that I would put a 7-4 team in the top-10, you're right. But it would still be different to me had trinity beat them not on a penalty shot in OT. As far as I'm concered they are a 7-3-1 team with losses to the top 3 teams in the country. Hard to penalize them for that in my mind just yet. Contact me after tomorrow's game. That would be the one that puts them over the edge for me. But with another game against Amherst to go, I wouldn't be willing to knock them out of my top 10 just yet. Suppose they win tomorrow...

Next year, this team has so much to look forward to - a new rink and hopefully a frst recruiting class for the coach and hopefully a strong recruiting class will make a difference.

While the score looks bad, when you look at the box score, it would appear that the USM coach did appropriate things to tone things down. The player who scored 5 goals didn't score after 5 minutes into the 2nd period. She probably didn't see another shift on the ice. Goals were scored by 10 players, so coach probably was encouraging everyone to generate opportunities for 3rd and 4th line players to score. Nothing wrong with this development opportunity in my book.

And 16 goals on 41 (.610 save pct) shots says that Plymouth State gave it up more than USM was piling it on. It would be insulting to everyone to tell your players to play keep-away instead of taking good shots on goal - especially your 3rd and 4th line players.

I think it will take more than a new rink for Plymouth State to turn things around. I'm not sure just what it will take though...

You can turn things around in a hurry, specially in D3. Remember the other team that lost 17-1 a little while back. They have since won a few games, including one tonight, 4-1 within their own conference.

From what I heard it was more of RIT not making many good shots than the goalie playing nasty, although 51 saves is still really good no matter what kind of shots they are.

The PSU coach is playing the hand she was dealt with for this year......with the new rink and her hell bent determination to get quality players I think we will see a much improved team next year. I know and seen some of the recruits coming in next year, and with any luck they should help plymouth be competitive. Once a team starts competing the future students will be more interested in coming to PSU. There is something about building a program from the ground up that is appealing to some students and me as well...all part of building a program I guess.......besides I am a big fan of the under dogs
