D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

How about a new thread called: Rambling When There's Nothing to Talk About:D

Ha Ha !!!
i suggested we lock down this thread about 20 postings ago.

Why dont we all take "Fivers" advice and "fade to black" or better yet observe the 24 hour rule

Onward and Upward !!!

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Most people over there don't know what the hell they're talking about either...
No, those people who are saying that Digit should be fired for her never ending putrid performnces don't know anything they are talking about. They must of been hit in the head with a stupid brick....who'd want a coach who cant do **** with her team season after season after season to be fired? By golly, not me!

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Don't you find that a number of threads tend to go round and round? I agree it does get tiresome at times and would also agree that this one has lost it's legs but it seems a common occurance here on this forum. I suppose we could all go over to the speculation threads and try and guess what the weather is going to be like in Bangladesh next month....:)

In closing (hopefully) however, I will continue to staunchly defend my views on running up scores as long as some people think it's a good idea to do so.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

When's Plymouth State playing again?

BTW -- congrats to Wesleyan and Nichols on shutouts last night to other than PSU

Hey 5-4 Fighting. Look what you have done now. You got the Latest Brown Rambler to join here.

Ya.... talk about a thread that should end. The Brown deal has gone around so many times that it's starting to morph to other threads. Oozing it's venom in the most unsuspecting places....

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Too bad, Phil, you're crumbling under the pressure.

CM -- he's outscoring me 4-34 on posts in this thread (2-30 before he accused me of yappin'). I know when it's hopeless...

If he had done his homework, he would have seen my first post was against running up the score. I just balked on CHG calling out all other sports based on some specious, exemplary tennis-net handshake that hockey does.

BUT I did check with my wife for some backbone and she said I should un-apologize because consorting with Canada can only mean socialized medicine and the violation of the American dream of winnowing out the weakest among us. So, I guess I'll have to put up with the taunting which seems the same as being on the wrong end of a lopsided score until this empty husk of a thread mercifully peters out...

perhaps we can sacrifice a politician's or sports personality's reputation here instead?

Phil, Phil, Phil...how so very disapointing! The Ol' Flip-Flop. Now you know why I didn't beleive you about your first post. Lame.

I'll bite though...How about that Tony Blair fella? Think he would be the type of coach that would run a team out of the end of the rink?

That's OK - it's all about quality, not quantity. You win.

Two errors and counting on one post. Got some news for ya, you interpreted all wrong about bringing in all other sports. No point in explaining it to a guy that has to consult with his wife for answers. Um.....man or a woman? If you're traditional I'll see you out in the parking lot for a chat....you gotta pay for reneging on the contract.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Since this thread seems to have devolved into a thread more or less about a thread, with some interpersonal banter/sniping worked in like a vein of cinnamon in a sticky bun ... let me add my 3 cents (inflation? exchange rate? dunno) ...

Isn't that a myth?

A myth is as good as a myle!

Oh, and by the way, "Less Filling / Tastes Great" wasn't about irreconcilable differences. The humor was in the fact that the two sides weren't actually disagreeing ... each just missing the other's point in an enthusiastic effort to (loudly) make its own.

No, I don't feel any better....

Everyone is entitled to their opinion is all I can say about this one. I don't feel like going at it again about personal interpretation with you now since you answer your own posts. You see what you want to see.

Not sure I was being contentious there, but ... um, ok.

Blair wouldn't run the other team out unless his American handlers told him the much weaker Beserkistani team had put a $5-$10 bounty on every puck that went into the bench and coldcocked the coach, and even then he'd wait until they'd pucked him before he sent in the Vulcans.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

What's your stance on teams running up the score on weaker opponents?
he's a capitalist -- do you have to ask? He doesn't have socialist sensibilities (down here he can't be strong and free without dominating some of the rest of us --- we don't have the elbow room you guys have -- that's why you like the hockey so much: it's an excuse to rub elbows -- try the A train everyday at rush hour and your passion for elbows fades -- or you can move to VT and be a socialist)
