D1 Scores and Highlights

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Cornell has now gone ahead of BU 4-3. Fortino scores on a delayed penalty.
BU not happy; the whistle blows on that delayed penalty on the touch 99 times out of 100. Today must have been the 100th time.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

BC adds an empty-net goal by Motherwell with 32 second left to make it 6-3 over St. Lawrence.

EDIT: That's it for St. Lawrence. BC advances with a 6-3 win.

Sorry to see SLU bow out after a great second half. Last ever game for one of their seniors that I know quite well.

Congrats to BC for making it to the final four two years in a row. Would have never predicted that at the start of the year.

Surprised about BC as well but they have been so Jekyll and Hyde this year. They go from being able to beat any team to just getting smacked from game to game.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Poulin scores her second of the game for BC to make it 4-4. 4:59 to go in the second period.

Edit: Brianne Jenner scores for Cornell to retake the lead, 5-4, with 3:52 to go in the second.

Cornell retakes the lead 5-4.

wah-is-up with all the high scoring ?. 9 goals in each game sofar. 6-3 in first game and now 5-4 in second game with a period left to go. Goalie Jitters, Poor D or Good O. ?

Certainly not like normal tight checking play-off hockey.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

So at the end of two periods, Cornell leads BU 5-4.

MattJ711 (or anyone else) -- I'll leave the third period to you. It's time for me to head for Ridder Arena.

In the BU-Cornell game, 9 combined goals on 34 combined shots.
The teams in the Beantown tilt scored nine times on a combined total of 70 shots.

All of those. Two Olympians playing like the competitors they are.

A feel softies let in by Mazzotta. BU's D starting to break down against all of that Cornell offensive power.

P.S. Cornell is so scary good. I'm glad they're finally graduating some of their superstars soon.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Watching a freebie webcast of that Cornell game off their athletic website. Pretty cool. Sounds like they are doing an interview with Rebecca Johnston.

They are sure putting the hammer down as the game goes on. Shot line is as follows:

Period one, 10 - 8 for BU,
Period two, 12 - 5 for Cornell
Period three, 8 - 0 for Cornell halfway through

Edit check that....9-1 for Cornell and 3 goals to make it 8-4.

Looks like RJ is having a monster game. Too Bad she did not get nominated as one of the top three in the Kaz award. This is now the second monster game in the playoffs for her.
