D1 Scores and Highlights

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

A bit better today (as predicted by JSchmoe)

Saint Cloud 399
Mankato 289
Bemidji 509
Columbus 520

Total 1,417 (average 354)

Total attendance for the conference for the weekend was 2,433, less than what they draw fairly regularly for a single game in Madison.
I'm going to be a little bit of a math stickler :p... that total was 1,717 today, making the average 429.

That also makes the weekend total 2,733. I think that's a little more that the average at Wisconsin, but I'll agree it's not by much.

Thanks, Dave.

Math is obviously not my field.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Just watched the the shootout from Mankato after the teams played to a 3-3 tie -- first seven shooters scored as UND took a 4-3 shootout win in four rounds. Some fancy moves from the NoDak skaters.

Do you have a link to that? Im guessing you weren't there in person?

I wasn't there in person, but I watched the Web feed from MSU live after the UM/OSU game ended (the Mavs offer that free, sometimes it doesn't have play by play, today they did). I don't know that they provide access to archived games. All I see from today is a Youtube video with Jackie Otto.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Brianna Decker has a hat trick as Wisconsin leads Ohio State 4-1 in the second period.

EDIT: the last goal has been changed in the live box, so it is now Decker and Prévost each with a pair of goals. 4-1 after two.

Wisconsin wins 7-1 over OSU.

Bemidji State 3-2 over SCSU, also a final.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Cornell beats Clarkson 2-1 in OT. Saulnier with the OT GWG assisted by Johnston and Jenner. Johnston with the other tally for Cornell.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

UMD tops Mankato 4-1 in Game 1 to tie up home ice in the first round of league playoffs next weekend. Mankato's Lauren Smith was called for contact to the head at the final buzzer (smart play) when she nailed either Haley Irwin or Audrey Cournoyer...not sure which because they both got hit at the buzzer and went down. Smith got five and a game DQ or something. The box score reads like this:

MNS-4 Lauren Smith (5-CONTACT TO THE HEAD) 20:00
MNS-5 Lauren Smith (10-Game Misconduct) 20:00
MNS-6 Lauren Smith (10-Game Disqualification) 20:00

Im sure Irwin was completely innocent! :)

She had to be helped off the ice, jacka**...she wasn't even in on the play.

Edit: She sat out eight games at the end of last season with a concussion, so a cheap shot to the head is a bit of a concern.

The second major was for checking from behind as she hit Irwin and then Cournoyer. I'm not sure which penalty was for what. Both occurred in the last 10 seconds of the game. It wasn't horribly physical prior to that point, as far as wcha games go.
