D1 Scores and Highlights

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

only 2-1? :0
is duluth not playing good or stc playing amazing???

Sorry, I missed this earlier.

SCSU's speed is an eye opener...keeping up with the 'Dogs for two full games...actually I think that they might be a bit faster. I mentioned SCSU's conditioning last night...their legs looked as fresh at the end of the game as they did right after the first face off. This is not the same team I saw in their first series earlier this season. Friend kept the score within reach and several SCSU defenders took one for the team with respect to blocked shots.

UMD did not seem to be able to create pretty plays around the SCSU net like they did yesterday while at the same time outshooting SCSU by a wide margin. UMD's power play was ineffective today.

So, the answer to your question is several reasons.

Canoe tipper in St. Cloud. 2-1 UMD final.
Could have sworn that UMD's first goal would be waved off due to goalie interference and/or in the crease. But they reviewed the play and let it stand.

SCSU really outplayed UMD at times, starting off 8-1 SOG advantage, with some real scoring chances.

No reason to hang their heads low tonight. Good game.

Totally agree. Could have been 2 or 3 goals very early for SCSU with their concerted attack in the first 10 minutes or so had it not been for Lana Steck who was "standing on her head and keeping UMD in the game" and who "rarely gives up a goal" as the play by play guy noted.

He also accurately commented that it was a win for both teams. You bet there's no reason to hang their heads.

If they play like this next week I'd say "UM, be forewarned".

Tea Villilla gets a five-minute game misconduct halfway through the second for checking from behind while the Bulldogs were already shorthanded. Great timing. Buckeyes have a two-man advantage for a couple minutes.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Carlson for Ohio State gets five-minute major and a game disqualification for hitting from behind, knocking Katie Wilson into the boards. Ouch.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Allie Tarr scores for Ohio State from Schmitt and Spooner, UMD leads 4-1 at 14:24 of the second.
