D-III Women's Ice Hockey Championships Awarded To RIT

Re: D-III Women's Ice Hockey Championships Awarded To RIT

Oh, they switched just this year did they...wasn't aware of that. Wonder why? Did the corner crew move as well?

Not so much. The Crew rarely attended women's games en masse before this season; when they did, they usually took up residence in the usual corner, even though it was RIT's end twice. Mainly because no one wanted to run to the other corner to ring the bell all the time. =)

Re: D-III Women's Ice Hockey Championships Awarded To RIT

Will there be a video feed for all of the games. Does the NCAA do it with announcers? That would be best.

Wanted to bump this as I'm sure there are a number of ppl wondering if these games will be webcast. Does anybody know?

Re: D-III Women's Ice Hockey Championships Awarded To RIT

Two questions, first will the games be webcast on the internet for those that can not make it to Rochester? And for the parents and fans that do travel to Rochester will they be allowed to attend the banquet Thursday evening, if so who does one contact for reservations? Thanks

Each team is allotted a certain amount of tickets and additional tickets at their request.

I would contact your respective school about trying to obtain a ticket.

I do know that once you add in the travel parties for teams with coaches, trainers, administrators, SIDs etc...Most teams are pretty close to their allotment making it tough for parents to attend.

Also, I believe all games are scheduled to be webcasted on fasthockey.com.

Excellent news on the webcast...guess they figured how to divy up the $6.99 USF. ;)

The games will be webcast, that is 100 percent official. Check back on RIT's site later in the week, for complete details. It is not on fasthockey.net. There will also be the usual live stats.

Also, another nice place is the Distillery on South Winton Rd., about 8-10 minutes from the Ritter. You take two roads to get there. Great place to watch March Madness. Tully's down on Jefferson is solid as well. MacGregor's has great beer selections, but the service is abysmal. TC Riley's is also right next to campus in Park Point. Solid place, but service is just okay. On Jefferson Road (the main road off of RIT's campus), route 252, there are a ton of places to eat, mostly chains, but a Red Robin, Bugaboo Creek, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chipotle, DiBellas, among several.

Unless things have changed in the last two years, we, as parents were not allowed to attend any of the banquets. It was just the teams. Not fair, but that's what we were told!! The NCAA did provide videos of the whole weekend that we could keep as "souvenirs"...

I don't know if this was the case in previous years but I do know this year each team has the ability to have 36 people at the banquet. 26 for the official traveling party which includes the players, coaches, athletic trainer(s), admininstration etc and then each school has the ability to purchase up to 10 extra tickets that they can use however they like and give to whomever they want.

Those be the facts Seymore. :)

not fair? ...gee, why not? Perhaps because the conversation with parents is more often:
"pass me the salt, but not like that pass in the Neumann game";
or "shoot me those biscuits, but don't put 'em in my chest like on Hallett in that UMass game";
or "check the other team out, but not like when you boarded Moon in the Platty game";
or "lift those potatoes over here, just like you didn't with that breakaway on Campbell";
"don't forget the dressing, like the undressing you got from Holtz in the Bowdoin game";
or "I'll take a little more icing on that cake, sort of like your entire second period against River Falls"; or
"slip me that butter, like when you caught an edge against the Tommys" etc., etc.
Let the gals live in the present and enjoy what matters most -- teammates and building more memories -- it does sound like fun but it's all theirs -- it is their time!

I forgot to recommend trying a white hot while in town. It's one of the options for meat selection on a garbage plate if anyone's inclined to try(kill two birds with one stone?). I much prefer them to regular hot dogs!

Dear MR. Seymore, your statement above is not entirely true or correct. Last year at that po dunk cow town on the flooded Minnesota river in south central no where the banquet was open to parents, fans, and the public. It was a wonderful event. I believe some coaches may not want the player's families to attend as you were told but you could have purchased a ticket to the banquet and attended if you had know about it. At some of these schools the cost is $ 50,000 plus per year and to not allow the parents to enjoy the evening seeing their daughters honored is really a poor decision by the coaches. Several years back when Elmira hosted the banquest was open to parents and fans also. Now a lot of folks are going to say this is an NCAA decision or a host school decision to not take responsiblity for the bad decision but I am neither a parent or conected with any school and I have attend two banquests over the years and been not allowed several other years. Hope you get to read this before my posting privilages are take away and this post deleted. 4and20

I was on the conference call Monday and the teams are allowed up to 36 tickets to the banquet max and that includes players, coaches, administrators, trainers, SIDs. Once you add all that up, there isn't any room for the parents of all the seniors.

End of story.
